Game set and match
England are more popular than this yearâs 6nation winning Irish rugby team
Thatâs todayâs fact guys
So whatâs your point caller?
There are better teams than what qualify for the RWC who donât get in because of where theyâre from.
Saudi Arabia is an enormous country.
China and India are enormous countries, they are non existent in the game.
The FIFA World Cup has been historically dominated by two continents with less than 15% of the population. Thatâs a fact.
If I wanted to make a pure argument on population than why not he FIBA World Cup? A competition where huge countries like the USA, Argentina, Spain, Turkey, France, China and many more compete in and have elite players plying their trade internationally.
You just have to face facts. Just 30 years after the RWC started and 24 after professionalism it is playing the competition in Asia. It has teams from major continents playing in it. It demands huge hosting fees. The 2015 version had a higher attendance than Euro 2016 and higher average attendance, despite having less teams, games and indeed teams from far away and small places like Fiji playing. Iâm very comfortable with the position of the competition in this short period of time.
Now back to the central point, the Nationâs team is the Irish rugby one. You might not like that, but thatâs just the way itâs gone.
Does it not sadden you that the Eire soccer team canât get more supporters outside of the big ticket events? Like all the barstoolers watching their EPL and not going to the LOI?
It saddens me Tim and I couldnât care less if there was ever another game of ground football played.
Collapsing in traditionally strong rugby union countries such as Australia. Two thirds fewer players than 15 years ago.
Bullshit. I never had it to lose it in the first place
Things go up and down. It has been the fastest growing team sport in the US for several years now.

Shocking statistic.
Countries like Ireland who take rugby seriously and are world class at it surely must have an impressive record at World Cupâs compared to the likes of the Aussies?
Nope
Any stats for that
Timâs knowledge of pickleball is getting shown up here
