I am comfortable in the position of Irish rugby as the Nation’s team. That is borne out by the consistent ratings it attracts, the better attendances and general awareness of the players.
Rumors about the third/fourth choice Ireland hooker gets more traction than anything about the Eire soccer team. Roy Keane, the assistant manager, is the best known and most captivating character in the set up. He is followed by Martin O’Neil. The only Irish soccer player known these days on the island by the ordinary person is Robbie Brady.
