The draw takes place at 1.30 and in the draw will be the youngest player to ever compete in the World Championships - Belgium’s Luca Brecel
He longer sleeps with the fishes so?
Ken is back in the championship too.
Davy Morris crashed out in the final round of qualifying to Barry Hawkins.
He’s still young though, he’ll come good.
Some notable matches from the first round draw for the World Championship at the Crucible. Neil Roberton begins against 1997 champion Ken Doherty, who qualified for this year’s event. Stuart Bingham faces seven-time champion Stephen Hendry, who also had to qualify. World number one Mark Selby faces Barry Hawkins. Stephen Maguire will play Luca Brecel, the youngest man to qualify for the World Championship at the Crucible, attacking left-hander Judd Trump will be up against Dominic Dale. In a fascinating clash of styles and personalities, Ronnie O’Sullivan faces another former champion who needed to qualify, Peter Ebdon, while defending champion John Higgins will play Liang Wenbo.

Read somewhere that Stephen Hendry is off to China this week on business and will be flying back hoping the draw is kind to him re starting times.
Fancy Mark Selby in this, though opening draw against the in-form Barry Hawkins. Will be fascinating to see how this young Belgian tyro gets on.

My 2 against the field are John Higgins and Ding Junhui
I’ve also had a few quid on the pair meeting in the final.
Looking forward to this immensely. Less than an hour to go
Ireland’s Mark Allen to win the tournament but the very best of luck to all three Irish players competing.
I officially signal the start of proceedings with this:

Mark Williams says he hates the Crucible. Cunt. In a very rare event I’m actually with Barry Hearn on this.
The Crucible = the home of snooker
David Gilbert leads Martin Gould 3-1 at the mid session interval
John Higgins leads Liang Wenbo 3-1 at mid session interval
Higgins 5-4 ahead. Liang very unlucky to get an in off when 4-3 up and a lead of 50 in Frame 8. Looks like a big turning point. Hard to know with Higgins whether he’s trying or in the thrall of corrupt match fixers.
An intriguing morning session has drawn to a close.
David Gilbert 6-3 Martin Gould
John Higgins 5-4 Liang Wenbo
Ken comes out to The Irish Rover and kisses the carpet
Ken on for a possible 147 here. Last three reds will be tough though.
Misses the 14th red. 1 all with robertson.
