Balotelli being singled out for the goal but I think Diego Costa appearing unmarked in front of him was a huge distraction. Still should have done better but it was fairly understandable that heād drift on to the unmarked threat a yard in front of him.

some excellent exchanges, i thought Gerrard had a brilliant game, that tackle in the box towards the end was top notch. he now knows he is useless going forward as his legs are shot but i thought he did the job of an actual midfielder very well
