So I assume something probably got lost in translation. A lot of questions to be answered, how were the two players identified? Assume it was the HSE and not the Wexford county board who contacted Clare county board to tell them this who then in turn relayed it the players and management. Doesn’t look like a solo run from Lohan, more so him taking what was relayed to him at face value.

his awful press release today doesnt add anything at all to what he said on Friday. the one thing though, and I know Lohan is only going off what he was told, but in that very same article the Wexford chairman spoke out and said it is not up to Wexford to make any contact and it is the HSE who decides who is a close contact. So its not like anything that has been said since to contradict that, only reinforce it. Surely Lohan should be finding out what happened rather than making even more of a shite of it all. He could be 100% right and it was bullshit what Wexford did, but you’d want to be sure of it before starting a war.

It’s semantics really. It looks like it was the the HSEs doing as opposed to Wexford’s, but whoever it was it is s a total mess. I’m sure Lohan will clarify his comments if it is a case of Wexford being blameless.
It appears the claim about the Clare Galway minor match doesn’t have a whole lot of substance to it either by the sounds of it. Clare players isolated due to travelling together to and from the game but it appears no Galway players had to so he may well be off with the video evidence claim.
yeah I dont know about the Galway/Clare minor precedent. I’d be surprised if Micheal was incorrect, he’s usually very sharp with these things and choses his words carefully. But if he’s wrong, it needs to be said too.
But yes, the whole thing is a complete mess. I just hope to fuck that Clare actually have a HSE letter indicating that the two players are named as close contacts and not that they just got a call advising them of being casual contacts and they misinterpreted it themselves and took their own action.

A simple auld phone call would have solved it all. Shambolic stuff.
In a functioning set-up, both boards would have gotten together and gone through Croke Park to the HSE and looked for clarification. Instead we have this megaphone diplomacy.
