Thereās an old folks Christmas party in a local hotel. A multinational sponsors it.
My aul lad is mad to go. The mother was listing off all the neighbours who are not going according to another neighbour . Theyād all be 80s. Some of them are not well at all.
The aul lad starts going nuts saying they are all going as long as itās on and the neighbour knows nothing. The mother is used to it and drops it. Cuts a piece of brack for him and pours a cup of tea.
He calms down then. Calm is restored.
Bonkers. Iām in the corner at the dining table ating bruwn bread drinking tea keeping quiet.

A neighbour of mine has been hospitalised with Covid, elderly enough(early 70s Iād say) but in very good shape, I assume heās vaccinated. Apparently heās in a bad way but I donāt know what exactly is meant by that. Would have been careful enough, just walks up to mass every morning, wouldnāt be a pub goer
