Would you say the failure of the government to impose any type of mask mandate despite unprecedented numbers in hospital and the calls to impose one from nurses and doctors not a tacit admission that they were something of a cod?

No. Think of the logic involved in that position. As I said several times before, the idea that a mask â but which mask, specifically? â is of no use at all would mean that many forms of surgery would become impossible. No one answered this point, because this point remains unanswerable.
People are entitled to their viewpoints. But I do not live in a black and white world, not being an inverted utopian.
If nurses and doctors want a mask mandate, that position should be properly considered. Of course, if you enter a hospital or a medical centre, you are currently required to wear a mask â in Kilkenny, at least.
The emergence of significantly less virulent variants of Covid has obviously been the pandemicâs key development â as with all pandemics. Some people refuse to acknowledge this reality, because doing so would be a tacit admission of their wrongheadedness. I remember when many of the âexpertsâ on here derided even the possibility of variants. So I continue to regard with derision what certain people now say. Bar a couple of exceptions, they have not got a clue. Childishness and ego prevents them acknowledging how wrong they were, all the way along. Their initial premise â in line with the inanities of TGBD â was that everyone should be allowed to get Covid because you could only get the virus once. I know of people who have had the virus four times.

Thatâs not what the scientific paper above says. It says there is no scientific evidence masks have any effect on surgical infection rates, for good or bad and there is a belief they are kept because of tradition and/or they make a fortune for medical device companies.
