You'd want your head examined or have daughters like Hopper McGrath, to manage a Ladies team thread

Are Brid Stack and Carthach Og still out there?

I’d say Joanne will have her eyes out

its fantastic what the AFL are doing, using the big money Tv contracts to subsidize AFLW.

As far as I can tell, crowds etc are still low so the public havent caught up yet.

Cora was saying they still dont have enough players coming through in Australia but when that happens it will be harder for the Irish to play

Its a very smart and progressive move by the AFL. You’d feel the window may not be open as wide for the Irish in the next decade, but for now, its a feeding frenzy.

Anyone tried watching it? No wonder they cant get crowds. Awful stuff.

Yeah, sure are.

thats only 2 players per club though. Its still a nice chunk of change for those in the lower tiers. 6 players will be on $55k, 6 players on $47k and 16 players on $39k. The € to $ is still about half, so the majority of new Irish players will prob be on about €20k for the 6 months out there, but with all expenses and accommodation covered. Its not something you’d get rich at, but playing at a semi professional level and being in Australia for 6 months is not to be sniffed at either and a great experience for them.

Please don’t.
I can summarize having not read it.
“Cathargh og is the greatest child in the history of humanity. We are the greatest parents. I’m brilliant at sport. My husband is brilliant at everything. Australia are lucky to have us. We love Ireland. Ireland and Australia love us. The bad defeat was nothing to do with me. I am a consummate professional and nobody else has my high standards. We would win all our games if everyone was like me and I was player coach and captain. The rest of the team played badly but no individual was anything other than brilliant. And the girls are the best girls ever and the club is the best club ever.
I’m homesick. The End”.
