Bitches be crazy

Would a skirt be more comfortable than a pair of shorts?

Obviously we don’t wear them as our appendages hang down but would it be more comfortable?

Isnt a short just a pair of shorts with a skirt over them?

Camogie players wear “skorts”. Ladies footballers wear shorts. Skorts are shorts with fabric to the side to resemble a skirt. I read this on Reddit last week

I think there was a thing a few years ago where the camogie players wanted to change to shorts

I think 99.9% of the camogie playing population would much rather shorts. They wear them at training and in challenge games. Old stooges and stooks at the top table are resistant to change though. Camogie association seems to be an absolute clown shop in terms of sports administration in this country and that bar is low.

I have asked many people involved in camogie and nobody has ever been able to give me an answer as to why the keeper wears the same jersey as outfielders. Most just say it has always been that way

Can’t answer that for you.

Nobody can. But it sums up the backwardness of the game and those who run it

I think you can tackle the goalkeeper in Camogie. So same rules apply for all.

In hurling you can’t tackle the keeper so need an easy way to differentiate keeper from an outfield player.

Only in the small box. Fair game outside.

I reckon the GAA should go same jersey too at this stage

The different coloured jersey for goalkeepers first appeared in Gaelic Football to allow referees clearly identify them as they are the only player allowed handle the ball on the ground in the small rectangle. The latest rule-changes reflect this also as a player replacing a black-carded goalkeeper (if other than the sub-keeper) must change his jersey if he wishes to avail of a goalkeeper’s privileges.

Up to 1975 hurling goalies wore the same jersey as outfield players but, in that year, the rule allowing a goalkeeper to be charged in the small rectangle was changed and, therefore, jerseys changed so the referee could clearly identify the keeper as it is still permissible to make a fair charge on any other player in the small square.

Camogie? Haven’t a clue…

Most camogie goalkeepers look like they’d have big boxes

There is no distinction between an outfield player and a goalie in camogie. You can challenge a goalie the same way you can challenge an outfield player. It was the same way in hurling upto the early 70’s I’d say and if you look back hurling goalies had the same jerseys as outfield players back then. Hurling changed by protecting the keeper. Camogie hasn’t.

@Elvis_Brandenberg_Kr has already outlined above

Another defeat for Vera Pauws WNT. This one will fall into the gallant defeat/moral victory category but it’s a defeat. This lady gets a free pass compared to Spock.

There’s a lady snooker player who has been made an MBE for being the best lady snooker player ever. 12 time world champion I think. She has made a grand total of 2 century breaks in her entire career.

I was refereeing a ladies football match there a few weeks ago, a county final.
After about ten minutes one team quite correctly pointed out that the two umpires at the end they were attacking were on the other panel, and had their team jerseys on, so it was really difficult to tell who was an umpire and who a defender.
I stopped the game and asked the two umpires to put a bib or a different top on.
The two of them whipped off their jerseys and turned them inside out.
It was fair embarrassing.
