Interesting that a few of those films came from novellas. After writing a big book a few times he had more in him and sat down and wrote a novella after, and then took a break for a few months. He thought theyā€™d never see the light of day. Eventually he had four and released the four together under the title Different Seasons. Of the four novellas in the book three were made into films, including Shawshank.

@Joe_Player, following some careful consideration Iā€™m changing my vote:

*Raising Arizona
*Darjeeling Limited
*Dead Manā€™s Shoes

This is liable to change based on mood. I could easily substitute Millerā€™s Crossing or The Big Lebowski for Raising Arizona and Royal Tenenbaums or Life Aquatic for Darjeeling Limited. I had quite an amount of whiskey yesterday, hence the revenge movie on the list. Dead Manā€™s Shoes is a classic, but could easily put The Deer Hunter in its place. ā€œDi di mau!ā€

Itā€™s Dances with Wolves but set in space.Drive is the best film Iā€™ve seen in the last few years,class soundtrack too.

Drive is brilliant flick, a film I wasnā€™t expecting much from but delivered in spades.

That and Paris,Texas and Boyhood are films Iā€™ve seen for the first time in the last year or so that were top class.
