Your Favourite Racecourse

For me it’s Down Royal and Punchestown in Ireland.

Outside Ireland, I’d say Ascot - some set up

Suzuka. Brilliantly designed with the perfect balance between power and technical demands required of drivers, and has so much history attached to it with the championship being decided there so many times.

I’d love to go to Portland park someday. It never seems to rain there and all the races start on time etc.
the crowd seem very nice too, very organised and friendly.

Anyone else here ever been to Uttoxeter? There’s something a bit charming or cosy about it. I quite enjoyed it the time i was there. No snootiness or anything there either just mostly NH enthusiasts. That would be my favorite in the UK but i’ve only been to there, Cheltenham and Aintree.

In Ireland i like Tipperary race course. It’s a bit like the Uttoxeter of Ireland. You don’t get piss heads, fake tan or scum bags there and it’s big enough plus quiet enough to move around freely.

Punchestown in Ireland, goodwood is the nicest I’ve ever been in though, stunning.

Cheltenham anytime outside of March.

Listowel in class too. Want to go racing in Killarney sometime.

Santa Anita the most scenic by a mile.

saint cloud , paris
i lost 12k there once tho

Auteuil my only French experience - very unimpressed

in Ireland it’s close. Every time I’m in Bellewstown I think sting… Fair play Barney, good man…then I think Wexford, it was early days for Pride of Milan but I think DB learned more from that broken tendon and became a better man.

Outside Ireland, without a doubt Doomben, although I did leave my watch on that sorts bed locker after the valley…wasnt able to tell the time for years!!

Great Thread
Uttoxoter National after the fesitval. Proper NH track. Something surreal about seeing them so close up after a week of shouting your head from afar at Cheltenham.

Leopordstown easily the best serious track either side of the water, after that Kilbeggan

The drunkest people I’ve ever seen at a race course was in Ayr.

It was like @croppy at a rovers game x 100… Good Luck

I like Longchamps myself, tremendous sense of occasion there

Bellewstown, mate. Bellewstown

Tipperary and Gowran Park are two that I always enjoy going to.

Typo mate, really bad, like the form eek’

that is false
95% of people involved in horse racing are utter scum, be it “trainers” , owners or gamblers,
you’d regularly hear things llke “fall you bastard” or “fuck you cunt walsh” in a bookmakers office, these are real salt of the earth racing fans here,
a horrid activity that is nothing without gambling

Actually this might not be a popular choice but i like the Curragh. Grand there on a Sunday during the summer to get up there on the motorway from anywhere really. Would not be my first choice but i don’t mind going there at all. Easy access from Dublin too.
