I tried this, admittedly on my phone on desktop mode but it said youtube premium wasn’t available in my country. Connected to Argies via Surfshark.
Managed to get this to work but through India and Hola VPN. For some reason the Argentina and Turkey premium pages came up blank and not loading so I chanced India and it was there. €15.70 for the year, paid through Revolut. What’s the story now? I know I don’t need the VPN any more but do I have to leave my country location on India on YouTube settings?
Can’t turn off the VPN and use it as normal.
I can’t disconnect?
That was a typo.
You CAN turn off the VPN.
Good man thanks. Presume I’ve to keep location at India or else I won’t have premium located in Ireland.
I don’t recall changing location back to Ireland.
Turn off the VPN and use it as normal and you should be ok I’d say.
You can turn off India. It’ll still work. If you have India on you end up getting video recommendations based on Indian ppl.
Just chanced it back to Ireland and yeah working away grand. Unless Youtube somehow cop on seems like it is a right goer.
The cheapest options I can get with my VPN are Malaysia, Chile or Brazil; All between 3 and 4 euro per month. I am getting errors when trying with Argentina and when I set it to Nigeria or Turkey the premium page won’t load.
I downloaded Hola VPN on my laptop. Connected to VPN in Mumbai, India. Google youtube premium on Icognito so I wasn’t signed in to google/youtube. Option for premium in Indian currency came up. Clicked the join button, askes to log in and I was away. Threw in my revolut card details, went on google maps and clicked a random house on Mumbai for the address and it went through. Averages a euro thirty a month.Argentina and Turkey were my first choices but both came up with unloaded/blank pages on the youtube premium page. It was as if Youtube were aware of the loophole and had shut it off to the VPN.
I believe there was a new law in Argentina that makes it more difficult to use there for new subscriptions. But as you said plenty of other options out there.
I’m in Goa myself so only down the coast if you want to get the train down for the weekend.
I’d say you’d get some savage curry recommendations
Whats the current best approach? Ive set my vpn to Argentina and my Google account address to Buenos Aires but still coming up as 12 euro per month
Maybe it’s all a genius idea by YouTube because after having it ad free for so long now I would pay 12 euro a month now if the Argentina thing stops working. I’ve gotten used to it.
I’d pay the 12e too I use YouTube so much. Seeing an ad now I’d cry.
But thankfully my rupees are still being received.
Need to do it on the laptop. Doesn’t seem to work on the phone.
That’s a steal. I am paying 17.90 Malaysian Ringgit per month, which equates to €3.50. Although there was no need to re-subscribe after 12 months, which was very convenient.
