1994 is completely irrelevant now, as are all other All Irelands ever, since the widely acclaimed ‘Greatest Championship ever played’ was won by Limerick in August 2018. I don’t really remember anything about hurling pre-2018 any more, it’s like it was erased or something

I was at my grandmothers house watching this one. My aunt, who since passed away, wouldnt really be into GAA but the whole family would be mad into it, chirped in near the end “2 quick goals and Offaly will be back in this one”. “Theres the first one now, just need another one and they’ll win”. Second goal goes in and another aunt told her to shut up talking. No one in the house wanted Offaly to win that game. Not sure why, whether it was Limericks famine or that Offaly beat Wexford in the Leinster final that year which caused us to shout for Limerick.

I was 8 l, I remember it. Was it Leo caught the ball three times for a free out and they went down and got a goal off it?

94 was a good day out. Didn’t think we’d win beforehand. Should have been out of sight at HT. Was looking for how to get onto the pitch with five minutes to go when all hell broke loose. Train was delayed for a few hours on way back. All pubs closed by the time we got home. ‘96 was worse in fairness.

Fuck it I can’t fathom how 96 could be rated worse. That was an excellent WX side who hurled really well.
