Truly awful mistake by him but a rare one in fairness, Shan. Nani is destroying Shorey and Berbatov could have scored a couple if he was more clinical. But West Brom are dangerous on the counter attack and are playing right through Manchester United’s midfield at times. I think you need an all round midfield player to ultimately replace Scholes - the midfield has been pretty average with him on the bench today.
Carrick has been nothing today. Fletcher has been missed in the midfield battle.
The stage is set for Rooney surely to prove to red nose he is back.
Watched 15 minutes there and just heard them talking about Gibson - didn’t notice him on the ball once in that time.
It’s a recurring problem for United that was partly solved by a rejuvenation of Scholes and Giggs moving inside but there’s a conveyor belt of midfield talent at Old Trafford that really haven’t imposed themselves. Fletcher is probably the exception.

Ferguson has been doing this for the last couple of seasons. He is getting found out with his constant changing of the team. United have got worse as the other teams have got better.
