I was indeed referring to the domestic list. It was of course a reference to Fergie’s quote when he took the United job, which was probably just about United winning leagues and taking Liverpool’s mantle as the best team in the country rather than looking at the number of titles, which I guess would have seemed to be beyond anybody’s wildest fantasies at the time.

This current United side isn’t a patch on the team it was three years ago and if you honestly believe they are going to put back to back champions league titles together on the basis that they had some facile victories in a weak group then you are deluded
