2010/2011 English Premier League Discussion Thread

Dunne is finished. I believe i called it months back.

I believe myself and another poster predicted the same Dunph, could be you and maybe Puke or Fran, can’t quite remember.

It wasn’t me but I do concur, kev.

Dunne strikes me as the type of player who really needs to work hard on his game and his fitness. This obviously takes it out of you faster than someone who it comes natural to

Well it was partly his age and how much he put into last season, but more than anything, it was MO’N leaving. Dunne always needs to have a good relationship with club/manager, and they in turn motivate him. I’d say he thinks Houllier is a fool and switched off.

I know i think he’s a fool too.

Man City knew the score.

I think Dunne will prove all the doubters wrong and confirm he is a decent player for club and country.

he was abysmal in his last season at city- hasnt improved since

when he joins Rovers my opinion of him will be reassesed

But they signed Kolo Toure who is a poor player. They need a centre back to play beside Kompany.

What’s the source of this Dunne story anyway?

Chris Samba handed in a transfer request today. It’ll be interesting to see where he ends up. Given the dross at Arsenal they could do a lot worse, depending on the cost.

Fock! where did you hear this ?

Yeah wouldnt be gone on Toure myself. Brutal in the air. Think they should give Lescott a shot next to Kompany. Not that Lescott is all that either but I think he is better than Toure.

Villa have apparently put 9 players on the transfer list including Dunne. Bit harsh on a player that was superb last season and I’d argue this season that Collins has been worse for Villa. But the condition he came back from pre season with was unacceptable really and he has struggled to catch up since. Cant imagine his career at the top level will last into his mid 30s due to his boozy early days. He also had a reported blazing row with Houllier and McAllister behind the scenes after they requested he report on player complaints after the Liverpool game.

Villa are apparently interested. Bog standard EPL centre half.

Van Der Vaart with a goal of the season candidate there for Spurs to put them two up against Villa. Great move involving the great Gareth Bale again of course.

Spurs are great to watch. The second goal was sheer quality. Modric, Bale and Van der Vaart add that touch of class.

Great win for United today. For a team that was finished at the start of the season they are really hitting top form.

Thought Lichaj did pretty well on Bale today considering. The other two were class. Villa are bang in trouble. Houllier has been spectacularly awful and if he doesn’t get the bullet we could well go down.

Was only watching it out of the corner of my eye but would agree that Lichaj held his own, he had the legs to go with him…Modric has really turned into a superb footballer, VDV and Bale are getting all the headlines but he is the man who is the real heartbeat of that Spurs side…

Even though he is a cunt I thought Defoe’s red card was a bit harsh, but if you lead with your arms you always run that risk…

Touré has never been the same since he got malaria in 2007. He is being carried by Kompany and De Jong. Whe De Jong doesnt play Touré gets exposed for the bang average defender he currently is.
Is it any wonder Mancini plays three defensive midfielders with that lad playing behind them.

pray tell, who are these 3 defensive midfielders that Mancini plays?

Presume he thinks that De Jong, Yaya and Barry are the 3
