Like it was with Everton and Livepool in that famous FA Cup match all those years ago, it’s 4-4. And it’s the Dutchman that’s looking the more likely at the moment.
Massive break for Thomo to go 2-1 up
I think he’s the image of Toad, who is, it must be said, quite a dashing gent. High drama there with Dekker narrowly missing double top. Phenomenal tournament again this year for entertainment.
What scenes!!
Unreal drama as Thommo blows it. He’s missed 8 match darts. Double Dekker steps in. 2-2.
I’ve switched to a more reliable stream but it’s about a minute behind. That minute makes all the difference. I’m trying to imagine what’s actually happening right now.
The scenes here are heart rending as Thommo’s missus is nearly ahving to be sedated as Dekker goes 3-2 up.
Wow! Awesome, awesome, awesome. Well done Jan ‘Double’ Dekker. Match of the championship? Not sure but up there with Wolfie and John Boy. It doesn’t get any better than that. Phenomenal stuff.
Dekker finally takes the final set 5-3 and a place in the semi-final. Unbelieveable human drama as his father runs up to embrace the 18 year old. But poor Thommo. 8 match darts. His missus as I said earlier was on the point of needing to be sedated and you can’t but feel terribly sorry for her and for him.
Epic even by Lakeside standards.
Ah, darts. Bloody hell.
Trina Gulliver is looking very well tonight and if she wasn’t a lesbian I’d be in there quicker than you can say “single one, bullseye”.
Trina reaffirms her position as a Lakeside ladies legend. Title number 9.
Adams in a world of trouble early on here.
Seriously good darts by both players here, but then you don’t expect any less at this stage. No surprise that Martin Phillips is out of the blocks quickly.
Philips unravelling now…
7 perfect darts from Wolfie but he’ll have to make do with a 10 darter.
Is that Gerry Adams playing on BBC1?
Welsh snooker wizard Mark Williams down at the Lakeside to support his compatriot.
Meanwhile Andy Fordham’s luck just goes from bad to worse. He was supposed to be accompanying Williams but he was in a taxi and after a kamikaze braking manouevre by the driver, poor old Andy somehow ended up with a broken leg.
3-3 in sets. But Wolfie with a key break at the start of the seventh set. If he can hold his throw over the remainder of the next two sets he’ll go 5-3 up.
I suppose you could say Wolfie’s aim is as accurate as an IRA sniper.
Sid, did Fordham ever win the BDO championships out?
