Mr BDO
Well, what can you say. Well done Wolfie. Hard luck Dean. An epic, privileged to have watched it.
What a display by Deano this week. He’s simply a great guy.
A true epic. Gladiators
Sixth year in a row we’ve had an epic final. The home of Darts. Lakeside.
Yes, it’s obvious you’re new to the sport, larry.
Yes you did, TDB.
Well done both players.
Well done Colin Murray
Well done BBC
Well done Bandage
Well done sid
Well done BDO
Well done Lakeside
Well done darts
What a speech by Wolfie. The players at Lakeside truly appreciate the support.
Great to see the crowd being included in the post-match celebrations
Sheer class by both Wolfie and Dean on stage. I wouldn’t expect anything else though.
Phenomenal…Just phenomenal
Magnificent ovation for Dean.
I can’t wait to see him back at Lakeside next year either, Crofty.
What a magnificent trophy it is. One of the greatest in world sport.
It seems like every year at the Lakeside is better than the one that went before.
This year has been truly awesome.
Disappointing to see some sniping comments on this thread.
Big case of green eyed monster me thinks
If I’m ever fortunate enough to get married then it’s going to be a late December wedding followed by a honeymoon at the Lakeside.
Enjoy it while ye can, lads. There is a good chance it will be gone next year…
Glorious suggestion Bandage.
One certainty though - Honeymoon will overshadow the wedding*********
******* The wedding will be fantastic in its own right. I just imagine the darts will be unbeatable. Hope you understand
I think when we sit down and analyse this final it’ll come down to:
i) Dean’s crucial missed doubles around sets 8/9
ii) Wolfie’s experience shining through at the vital stages, he looked beaten at one stage but that’s the measure of the man to come back like that
iii) A tale of two high outshots - Deano’s decision not to go for the bull after completing 2/3ds of a 164 - he never won another leg, and Wolfie’s 161 at the end - he just missed joining his old sparring partner Ted Hankey by winning the World Championship on a massive outshot, but no doubt he’ll give Ted some stick about overtaking him in the number of World titles won.
A wedding cake with dartboard icing. I’m having that if I ever get married.
