Is it just me or do the PDC fans seem to have a big inferiority complex and seem more keen to attack the BDO than anything else? They were chanting something about Olly Croft but I thought he worked for the BDO? I could be wrong though and maybe Croft works for the PDC and I’m mistaken? As I say I’m a newcomer to darts but loving the BDO anyway.
I remember a player called Ted Hankey or something complain about the fans at the Grand Slam Of Darts. Hankey always struck me as a decent bloke so I’d be critical of whichever group it was who were heckling him.
Ted Hankey is a cunt hence his nickname “The Cunt”.
Larry, Olly Croft is the founder of the BDO and the man who pretty much pioneered the game as we know it. He is responsible for the setting up of the county system which produces top quality players all over Britain. The county system is the bedrock of the game there. He was also responsible for the setting up of the World Championship in 1978.
Olly Croft comes from Muswell Hill in North London which is also where the Alexandra Palace where the PDC tournament is being staged. Clearly the PDC and its boozed up daytrippers see it as some kind of joke to insult the father of modern darts effectively on his home patch. Many believe this “two fingers” was one of the main reasons for the move to this particular venue. True fans of the game see it as showing a real lack of class.
Oh right thanks for the info sid. So at end of day Croft has nothing to do with the PDC. These guys in PDC must have a real chip on her shoulder.
Colin Murray is an excellent broadcaster. In stark contrast to the quite cheap looking gash that is the goer on Sky.
A very apt comment above, larry. The inferiority complex and collective chip on the PDC lovers’ shoulders is massive and all consuming for the likes of Dunph, fenway and jimmy. I can only equate the Sky Sports darts hype to that of the English Premier League. Similar to English football, it’s as if Sky and their misguided followers believe darts only commenced with the birth of the PDC when it’s nothing more than a splinter group. Darts had a proud and rich history ever before Barry Hearn and Sky started their tawdry breakaway faction and the BDO’s system continues to produce the stars of the present and future in the tried and trusted county format. I don’t watch Phil’s Darts Club events but I believe Gary Anderson, a perennial failure at the Lakeside, is demolishing all before him at the unofficial championships. That says everything about the respective quality of both fields - BDO effortlessly straddles the grassroots and the elite in a family atmposphere full of camaraderie and respect for the game.
Bandage if you want to keep this 2/3 year wind up going at least get your facts right bro.

The boys are certainly dressed for the occasion. 
i would not knock the BDO (despite what bandage might say). the top 8 -10 players would easily hold their own in the PDC.
Stevie Bunting is a classic example of how a player can take his time to find his feet on the Lakeside stage, but when he eventually does…BANG. Like Chizzy last year.
Waites v Hankey is going to be great with the winner to play Bunting, that is a serious quarter of the draw considering Woods has already gone out. Pecker joins Fitton, O’Shea, Ross Montgomery and Steve West as well fancied players to bite the dust. Another big one will go in the next hour or so.
