2011 GAA Betting Thread

Ladbrokes have Wexford at 10/11 -6. I think Wexford will have too much for them. Carlow’s league form in Division 4 was average enough and in their most recent league match were easily disposed of by Longford. They had a great result and seemingly fully merited win against Louth. Louth played a lot of this game with 14 men. Half of Carlow’s scores came from placed balls. Think if Wexford manage to keep the free count down they should cover the handicap. Some of the forward play so far has been excellent and Carlow will struggle to contain Lyng. Can see them adapting a sweeper policy but still think Wexford will have the ammunition. Weather forecast isn’t too bad either which should aid their freeflowing football.

Also think that Meath will cover the handicap -2 at 5/6 against Louth. Louth seem to have taken a backward step from last year. Meath’s forwards are very capable and they may count themselves as somewhat unlucky against Kildare. The game was still in the balance when Geraghty’s goal was disallowed. Meath will be aiming to set the record straight after last year. Louth haven’t won a qualifier match since 2007 and there seems to be some discontent in Louth over the team selected. The defeat to Carlow won’t have helped the mood in the camp.

Plus the Louth manager has a lisp and is a member of Fine Gael. I’m all over Meath -2.

Which ones are you actually going for?

I like some of those odds Mac, wonder about Dublin being such relatively strong favourites, think its quite 50-50 myself. Donegal could very well win, so thats very good odds IMO.

Think there will be a shock or two as there nearly always is. From back along i fancied Tipp, but they seem to have lost players to the States and i’m not quite as convinced as Laois seem to have picked their best players this time. I think London could do it though and are definitely worth a flutter at that price.

I’ll be taking just straight bets London, Kildare both +3 @ 1.83.
Donegal + 1 @ 2.00
Louth +3 @ 1.90

Also having a small one on the nose for London.

I have offally (football) and London to win.

Generally a very good site, but jesus lads, leave the Jimmy interviews off. Really bad article, alot of which makes no sense.

I’d be wary of any of the larger handicaps today given the conditions. I’m out and about and the wind is very strong. That said i’ve had a cut off Meath -2

I have a few ridiculous accumalators [I know, I know, it’s an illness] based off these.

Wicklow (+3.0) @ 2/5
Longford (+3.0) @ 2/9
Antrim Hurlers (-4.0) @ 8/11
Offaly Hurlers (+10.0) @ 4/7
Wexford (-4.0) @ 4/9
Galway (+3.0) @ 2/5
Dublin @ 1/2
Monaghan @ 2/5
Meath @ 4/9
Laois @ 2/5
Down (-4.0) @ 3/10
Antrim Footballers (+2.0) @ 2/5
London (+3.0) @ 5/6

I’ve gone for a Wicklow / Monaghan double today

I’ve gone for the following treble

London 2/1
Galway 11/8
Wexford -7 evens

London seem to be moving in. A lot of money behind them.
I’m gonna have a small cut at them straight up.

I see that Cork are 11/10 to beat Kerry next week. That is too big a price for a match I strongly fancy Cork to win.

Mentioned it a week ago Sid, can’t believe they are outsiders.

Pp have moved the Meath handicap to +3 I think they’ve still got it all wrong

why are longford favourites to beat cavan?

loud will lose to mead

Fucking useless erratic nordie tards has the big bet dead but I’m still alive in my 12folds.
And the London bet was a nice little win too. First championship win since 1977. Congrats to the rest of ye who got on this. I got it 5/2 on Betpack.

I think there could be a bit of value in back to lay with Louth this evening. Available at just under 4/1 on betfair and no doubt they will be coming out all guns blazing with a point to prove after the defeat to Carlow and the events of last years Leinster final, i expect them to make a strong start

A contact of mine said Louth are in serious internal disarray

Louth have the breeze first half

I went in on this, so have them at -2 (5/6) and -3 (11/10)
