I agree. I can see why Nani might be inclined to leave having not even come off the bench against Barcelona - similar to O’Shea and Berbatov who also look to be on the way out. But whether United should be replacing him is another matter. Ferguson clearly trusts Valencia more defensively but Young doesn’t offer more protection that Nani and is hardly much more versatile given his mediocrity when played anywhere other than the wing.
Think Young was on the 55/60 k wage at Villa. Wasn’t there a report recently to say Evra has signed a new deal for 110k a week and JOS on 90k? Surely believable that he has doubled his wages.
The highest paid player at Villa - Stephen Ireland 65k a week. Habib Beye apparently trousering 35k a week at Villa for last 2 seasons. Doubt he has played ten games and has another year left on contract.
Young can play on both sides though Nani can’t. Young will offer decent set pieces too if he gets his form back and in his fleeting England appearances seemed to combine well with Rooney. Rooney and Nani don’t seem to play well for some reason.
It’s a tough call on Nani I reckon.
