2011 Summer Transfer Window

I can’t see that happening but I do think they’ll be more flexible. See my other response to Totti below.

Yeah Villa is more likely to lose his place but you need at least 4 strikers to cover 3 positions anyway and again it’s more flexibility.

They’re still short on defenders and I think they may arrive closer to the 3-4-3 by playing Mascherano or Busquets as a centre back in some games but as a libero in front of the others instead of as a natural centre back.

It’s very similar to how they currently play but that’s the point. Busquets/Mascherano can drop back to make it a flat back 4 or push up into midfield. Same with Alves or Abidal. They don’t both have to play.

That Vidal to Juventus move went through anyway. A terrific player - hilarious that Jordan Henderson cost twice as much. They’re not even comparable in terms of ability. Good signing for Juventus anyway. Add him and Pirlo to that midfield and they’re really improving. They also have those loan signings being made permanent. Leverkusen aren’t too happy about his departure - Hoeness isn’t much of a diplomat: “he broke his word but he’s South American so his word didn’t mean much anyway.”

Sokratis Papastathopoulos has joined Werder from either Genoa or Milan or both - can’t work out who owned him last.

Felipe Melo has joined Galatasaray on loan for the season for a €1.5m fee with a view to a €13m permanent move.

Chelsea have agreed a fee for 19 year old Barcelona B midfielder, Oriel Romeu. Anyone know much about this chap?

Porto have signed 20 year old Santos left back, Alex Sandro, for a fee of €9.6m.

Uber-cunt Stephen Carr being linked with a move to Wolves today

Jenkinson got a cracker of an own goal earlier:

Chelsea look like the club favourites to get Pastore.

N’Zogbia confirmed to Villa for £9.75m. N’Zogbia was the most dispossessed player in the EPL last season - 320 odd times, about 90 more than anyone else in the league.

Goian to the huns looks like it’s going through today for £750k.

Honestly think he is a better player than Downing. More explosive and more scope to improve. Bit of a mentalist though.

Dear God.

The huns have completed the signing of that Goian chap from Palermo. Probably a like for like replacement for Bougherra who’s likely to leave after the Champions League qualifier.

I would say that is complete bullshit.

‘Liverpool have loads of midfielders and seem to be struggling to sell Cole, Aquilani etc so let’s make up a story about Lucas quoting a “source” and include the word “could” a lot. Oh and while we’re at it, let’s check, and delete, the voicemail messages of some presumed murdered schoolgirl.’

Graham Hunter [forum friend] on newstalk this morning saying Kun [as he calls him] to City is a done deal. He arrived in England yesterday

Graham lifted that from twitter.

West Ham have apparently bid £8m for Shane Long. What a ridiculous amount of money for a Championship side to pay for a player.

Only 1 year left on his contract too hasn’t he?They must have lined up another buyer for Carlton Cole so if they are offering this sort of money

Was it Uli who has a fetish for headed goals and once approached Alan McInally on the sly offering him a wad of deutschmarks if he would score with a header?

Marry up the £8m for Shane Long in the last year of his contract to this.
There is no consistency to the market at all.
