Actually CLD, what thread did you tell the mix tape story in? Would like to read both it and the follow up posts again for the laugh.
He told me he’d make me a mixed tape too after the Skywalker Puma tip but i’m still waiting for it…

Found them. They are in the Things that are Wrong and Things that are Right threads.
The first post was in the context of Tinnion calling TippTops “ghey” for being given beer by his neighbours as a thank you for not having issue with a party they had thrown the night before.
Ah tinnion, where is your sense of neighbourhoodliness.
There a few months back I left my apartment to go downstairs to meet the dude delivering me some Chinese food. I planned to leave the door a little ajar. I walked down the hallway and heard the door close behind me. No keys… SHIT!!! No Phone. Can’t call anyone and the lads won’t be back til God knows.
I didn’t even have shoes on.
Anyway after a while I decided the best course of action was to knock on the door of the lads across the hall.
A fella let me in. I imagine in his position I would have been less hospitable but I explained my retarded situation and he was sound. I ate the food in their place, called one of the lads using his phone.
Braz eventually arrived back to let me in.
Anyway once i got back from dropping Braz back from where he came from I created a disc of TV shows that yer man said he liked but hadn’t seen during the course of our awkward conversations and dropped it over. 2 minute job but it seemed like the right thing to do.
In between the last post and this one was a series of taunts about my sexual preference and the CD of TV Shows had morphed into a “mix tape”. RTT coined that one.
I would have been locked out for hours without the random help of whoever happened to be living across the hall.
I had no idea who would answer. I wouldn’t have been able to pick one person who lived there out of a line up before then.
So yeah, ye manly men can spin it like that if ye like but the reward for helping me avoid being locked out of the house for many hours in winter is this. As I said it was a 2 minute job. A token effort.
I’d do it again in the same situation.
And I would. Another one where if I’m wrong on this, i don’t want to be right.
This is the post by Bandage. Which is a majestic and hysterical distortion of the story.
Kudos.
A disturbingly wrong story from a few months back that I was just reminded of:
I was on my own in the apartment one Wednesday evening watching a Champions League game when I heard a knock at the door. Usually, I’d ignore it but, for some reason, I thought Clarkey or Jugs might have forgotten their key and strolled out and opened the door.
Anyway, I was met by the sight of this gormless looking, fat cunt, wearing no shoes and carrying a bag of take-away food standing there. He had a lazy eye too. He told me some spurious story about living in the apartment across the way and how he’d gotten himself locked out when he went down to pay for some Chinese food he ordered for delivery.
There was some smell of sweat off the cunt. He said he planned to leave his door a little ajar but it must have closed behind him and he was locked out and had no phone and was wondering if he could come in. He wanted to eat his food in my gaff and then ring his housemate to get him to come home and let him in.
I was pretty stunned and it was a really awkward situation to be in as the last thing I wanted was to let this sweaty, probable rapist into the apartment. He made a comment about how hospitable I was after a while and then said I had nice eyes. At this stage, I was well freaked out trying to avoid making any eye contact with him as he sat there making horrific sounds while eating his curry. I was staring right ahead at the TV screen and concentrating on the game, as much as I could, when he piped up and asked me if I wanted him to make me copies of the entire series of Entourage and Desperate Housewives. I said it was fine and he let out a shriek and yelled, ‘Oh behave!’
Eventually, he called his housemate using my phone and about a half an hour later some other freak arrived back to let him in. I was never more relieved in my life when he went but then there was another knock around 20 minutes later. Once bitten, twice shy so I looked out the peep hole and saw the same cunt standing there and went back into the living room and ignored him.
Anyway, I went back out a few minutes later and there was a disc on the floor, which he’d shoved under the door, with an accompanying note. The post it read, ‘Thanks for earlier - just give a knock on my door if you ever want a massage’.
Sick bastard - who the fuck knows what was really on that disc?

Just put a tenner there on David Herity at 80/1 for Motm. Won’t be backing it up with stats and percentages or anything like that.
Might as well piss it down a drain…
Classic, just saw this now
Do you think he won’t win it?
CLD, how did Shefflin play today? Genuinely i have not seen the match or read a thing since, been gone all day.

Bollox, there was a lad on the AI Sunday Game last year who picked Shefflin for HOTY when he was nowhere near the best Kilkenny player last year.
This year if he plays like he did the last day and we win it’ll be a very easy choice.
Let me give ye the maths on this.
To lift the cup the odds are the best odds you can get is:
Kilkenny 2/5
Galway 2/1
2/5 implies a 71% chance.
2/1 implies a 33% chance.
For HOTY:
I’ll give you the top 5 and their best odds and % chance.
Joe Canning 8/15 or 65% chance
Henry Shefflin 11/4 or 26% chance
Brian Hogan 7/1 or 12.5% chance
TJ Reid 16/1 or 6% chance
Iarla Tannion 22/1 or 4.3% chance
The HOTY odds are pretty much inverse of the match odds.
The big question here in the context of these odds is: Who here thinks that a Galway player will be HOTY if Kilkenny wins?
The history of this award shows all but 2 winners coming from the AI winners.
It was hard to argue against Shanahan in 2007. Is the same the case today? I don’t think it is.
CLD
The king of the dutch bet. Was all over this with a saver on Galway at 2/1. Henry’s first half decided it to day - top man.
3/10 with PaddyPower now.
I tried to put €100 on @11 /4 with Ladbrokes after I saw the teams and the Skehill stuff. They would offer me…
So I took it.
This was on top of the one I had before the drawn game.
He better fucking win now.
