It looks as if the bould Seanie will be returning to play for Cavan Gaels in this year’s Cavan county championship.
With Seanie and Socks shooting Cavan Gaels will be hard bet.
That commute from Kildare will be tough, but he’s a committed clubman is Seanie.
How would you even have the neck to do it.
He won’t be the main man there anymore with socks around
Talk about a success hungry little hoor… Now that Cavan going well, I am sure he will be looking to put in his spake for a spot… He should be ran!!!
He won’t get a sniff.
Into yet another East Cork final, presumably against those Sar’s cunts. Ah lovely.
Portlaoise beaten tonight by last minute goal by Graiguecullen. They were miles ahead at half time but only scored one point in second half . Graiguecullen scored 2-7 without reply including last minute goal. Portlaoise not out, play some other loser team
Portlaoise weakened decisively this year as a result of a number of withdrawals due to injury, travelling and hurling. Think the 6 in a row was a watershed and they seem to be rebuilding to an extent now. Given their size, they have the players there to come in, but they still need blooding. Graiguecullen are coming strong the past 3 years, and with Joe Higgins in charge now seem a serious prospect.
Portlaoise still in it though, they play a team from the first round losers group and will have a big say in this yet, but definitely not the outfit they were.

Might have asked you this before but are portlaoise the only club in the town? Do they draw big support from all over town or would they be confined to a few clubmen like lots of town teams?
Only Club, but like you said, they don’t draw from all over. They’re simply not able to, but they do very very well all the same. Another Club is badly need to be honest, for the sake of Laois. One tried to set up a few years back but failed miserably due to lack of support, lack of interest and lack of sense. Something needs to be done still though.
Would there be some parts of town play with outside clubs or just some estates would be soccer only?
Must lose out on a lot of players in one way you’re right as well as cleaning up at underage.

There would be the odd lad from the town playing for another club usually on parentage.
Like you say huge turnover of players. Other clubs would kill for their discards.
They look after their players well. Our junior team played their u21 team in a challenge one night and we all got chicken curry after it!
What other big or decent sized towns in Ireland apart from Portlaoise only have one club?
May be wrong on some of these but I think:
Thurles
Ballina
Omagh
Tuam
Naas
Cavan
ballina has another club …ard na Ri i think…
