Killarney has Crokes, Legion, Killcummin & who else?[/quote]
Fossa and beuafort too i think…

Nenagh is a fairly big town with only one club.

Naas was mentioned by @Sidney in his original post - they are a junior club but is Two Mile House GAA club just outside Naas or is it part of the same parish? A small club but former All Star Peter Kelly plays for them I think.

The whole GAA structure is a bit mad. Large urban areas with one club and then you have situations like Arles in Laois with small places split up!

3 clubs in the parish of Newtownshandrum, 1 very successful Senior and 2 Intermediate. Incredible.

Cork is a farce. There is no towns with more than one club at all.

 Beaufort must be 7-8 miles outside Killarney.
Both Fossa and Beaufort are villages separate from Killarney.

I think the clubs in a lot of mid size to large pronvincial towns suffer from competition from a plethora of soccer and sometimes rugby clubs. Also, townie clubs are often more likely to be dual clubs, whereas rural clubs are often senior in only one code (obviously there are exceptions to this).

I may be wrong but I think templemore is the only town in Tipp with a senior hurling and football club

Apart from the likes of Collig and Douglas where else could you see a need for more than one club Kev? Not that many very big towns in Co Cork mallow, carrigaline, Midleton the only ones I could think of that might have 10k populations

There is room for another proper club in Blackrock/Mahon area, Togher/Bishopstown/Glashern area (in some cases Lough Rovers and others should combine)

Then Carrigaline, Ballincollig and Mallow all should have a 2nd club. After that it does get debatable.

When you look at places like Carrick-on-Suir having 3 pretty decent Senior/Intermediate clubs out it doesn’t reflect well on Cork.

Making a big assumption that its not a zero sum game though. None of the three named above are world beaters. Splitting their “vote” might just make for two weak clubs. Can see some merit in it though in fairness

Doubt soccer is or ever will be he competition in Carrick as it is in Cork city, mallow etc either

Fossa is 2-3 miles outside and is a village in it’s own right.

Blennerville have a club aswell which is barely outside Tralee.

2 miles FFS…thats good enough for me to call it Killarney…

You have such a stubborn streak. Admit you’re wrong just this once, pal.

It’s Fossa, just accept it and move on.

Blennerville and Fossa would be about the same distance from the towns I’d say!!

for a start i said " i think"…i wasn´t sure…then i admitted beaufort is too outside killarney …but Fossa is not… how is any of the above stubborn?..google fossa and every mention says Fossa Killarney

I must admit iv been in Killarney dozens of times And I would also consider fossa to be part of Killarney. If there is a separate Fossa village iv yet to see it

spot on…the pitch is actually on the main road out to the golf course in killarney…there´s a pub there and tahts about it…can´t wait for an apology from @Bandage for jumping in …
