2013 Lakeside World Darts Championships

Can’t wait for this. Always great to see real darts on the tele

Wet farts is about the most exciting thing to be expected on that stage in the early rounds of this sham of a show.[/quote]Your ma would know all about wet farts

It will be a damp squib. That is my prediction.

this thread is for knowledgeable dart followers only …so fuck off ya mong

He tipped Van Gerwen to win it at 100/1 you fucking no mark.

Then what are you doing here?

Not long to go now for the greatest darts show on earth… If it ain’t lakeside, it ain’t darts.

bump

I’m going for Stephen Bunting to show why he’s the world’s number one player at the moment by winning his his first World Championship.

I’m not much of a darts fan but I can’t get enough of this tournament usually. The pressure is immense and sometimes results in lower averages but that just proves how seriously everyone takes this tournament. Who wants to watch that other exhibition crap? This is test match cricket, instead of Twenty 20.

Will ye be listening to this on the radio lads? BBC are not showing this year due to recent abominable viewing figures.

It’s being shown on the largest sports network in the world. That will more than do us.

You’re wrong Dunph

No mention of David Croft as one of the commentators.

Mainly showing the “highlights” on the beeb, mate. If there are any.

Thing is most bdo supporters are poor and uncouth and wouldn’t be able to afford ESPN. So most of them won’t see it.

Difficult to see what’s on and where. Might not be a great idea splitting coverage.
Here is the BBC schedule. Hard enough to find the ESPN schedule in one spot.

Darts on the BBC

What odds there is a communication breakdown or comical mix-up one of the days and they show no darts?

Not only are ESPN (biggest sport channel in the world) and BBC providing coverage of the tournament, Eurosport have won the battle to secure rights to show the event throughout continental Europe. The tournament will genuinely be going worldwide - a real world championships.

So Jim Proudfoot is in for David Croft. Jim’s well known for his football commentary but I’m not aware of his darts background - can anybody shed any light on this? But it’s reassuring to see many household names and legends of the game will be returning - Tony Green, Bobby George and Ray Stubbs to name but three.

Sky would love to have the likes of Bobby George rather than the personality deficient types they seem to attract

They’re not household names or legends mate, they are nobodies. Sid Waddell, Eric Bristow etc - Household names.
