2013 Senior Hurling Championship
spot on re Duignan. This rubbish about him pulling a dirty stroke 13 years ago disqualifying him from commenting on dirty play now is getting rather tiresome. He has stated that he should have been sent off for that so move on from it. Johnny Giles put in a few dodgy tackles in his time so should his comments on bad tackles be ignored, ditto Roy boy on ITV?

Tom Dempsey should be concentrating on upping his own analysis which is rather inane and shite on Sunday Sport Radio rather than hopping off Duignan and batting for Wexford.
He has every right to comment but it was the content that was ridiculous.

The Wexford players pulling down on lads heads was ridiculous? Agree.

Shore’s was fine given he’d just been stabbed. Sinnott’s was out of of order. And that’s it. He was completely over the top and ridiculously sensationalist.

What is the vendetta with Wexford Hurlers about?

Duignan is an inconsistent hypocrite. If it had have been tommy walsh he would have been bending over backwards to find an excuse for him

yeah but Duignan spent plenty of time highlighting the stabbing too and even made reference that Shore’s stroke may have been influenced by the stabbing. Former Dublin hurlers are not in the media lambasting Duignan for highlighting the stabbing like Larry O and Tom are re the wexford loose pulls.

He mentioned the stabbing briefly at the outset before moving on and apportioning the blame on Wexford completely. Going on about Dublin players being in fear for their safety and therefore not going for the ball. It was utterly ridiculous and I expect nothing less than him to be called up on it.

That wasnt my point; he never pulls up the dirt of kk and is inconsistent. Hed never lay into henry or tommy the way he did to the lads on saturday

Bandage

I think its time to hand out bans to those who continue to snipe at the good name of Wexford Hurling. I am disgusted with some of the bile on the past few pages of this thread.

Yes, his mention of the stabbing at the outset made it all the more ridiculous for him to then apportion the blame for unsavory incidents entirely on Wexford.

I don’t agree with the Duignan bashing over his praise of Kilkenny either. He gets a lot of stick for that. FFS they are hammering the shite out of near everyone for years now so the analysis will have to be complimentary towards them. In fairness to Duignan he didn’t shy away from getting stuck into the Cats when he was playing.

Re your point that he goes light on them for dirty play I will keep an eye out for that. You might have a point there

They are hammering the shite out of people precisely because of that. They arent on the edge, they are clearly and regularly breaking the laws of the game and doing it in plain sight but not getting pulled up on it by the media. But at least theyre obvious about it unlike those snakey cork cunts

They were at their peak at it in the mid 00’s but about 5 years too late they have been started to get called on it. Hickey pulling across legs, Walsh breaking his hurley across a players legs and constant interfering with helmets, and Brennan leaving the stamp of the butt of his hurley through fellas faceguards was all stuff so ridiculous that it beggars belief how they got away with it.

maybe so Art but jez maybe wexford should try be a little more subtle in the dark arts area of the game. The old loose loosish pulls were a bit obvious the last day. Waters was lucky to get away with a yellow in the drawn game too. A real sneaky dirty full back would have got that dig in a sneakier less obvious way at some stage in the game.

Id put 04 as the height of it. Walsh pulling across jamesie oconnors head and getting a yellow and then in the replay the whole gerry quinn incident. Showed up the hypocrisy beautifully

They got away with plenty a long time after that.

The spoof Brian Carthy twitter account (@notBrianCarthy) amuses me way more than it probably should. He’s covering the Offaly-Waterford game.

And the shot from out the field, and the poooint for Waterford.

GOAL - Shane Dooley

Biffos 1-00 Waterford 0-02.

Waterford playing with a huge breeze in the first half apparently.

Uu-fall-ya!
