2013 Senior Hurling Championship

I think you forget the League Final the mixer walsh
Congrats to Dublin. 100% deserved it.
Deserved a win the first day too.

We now likely have to play Tipp without our best defender the last 2 years, our best midfielder by a distance and the greatest hurler of all time. Is Richie Power suspended too? Does two yellows today mean he is gone for next week? I assume so. I’m having a brain fart. Rattled.

We are fucked. I have a strange mid 90s feeling. The semi final streak is on the ropes.
I fully expect us to be out of the championship at the earliest point since Billy Byrne beat us on June 2nd 1996.

In fairness, it’s about fucking time we started to properly falter. We’ve had a ridiculous run.

To Dublin :clap::pint:
And also to a fresh name on the Liam McCarthy trophy in September :pint:
I want to agree with you but can only like on the App - so Agree… but I’d nearly prefer to be gone altogether now instead of dragging it out to next week. Dublin were far, far better, well deserved win.

Mad to think that Wexford will be in the championship for longer than either Kilkenny or Tipp

3 weeks out in a row for KK facing Tipp and as mentioned far too many key players out.If Dublin lose next week they too will be shattered! Fuckin hell this is brilliant anyone can win Liam now.
I think Power is okay to play after 2 yellows.

I am dreading KK next weekend. Dublin were good tonight but they were not overly good, KK were as bad as i can ever remember them. They are going to be like men fucking possessed when they see the Blue & Gold jersey.
Don’t think so.

To be honest the championship needs to be changed. Lads from KK and Tipp training hard for months and they might only get a game or two. It’s rough on the poor divils - not everyone has the chance to make it to late Summer.

Well done dublin as good a work rate as ive seen in a while. Even if i could barely see it on that bullshit player. Kk must be worried about life after shefflin now that might be here already, hard to see cody having much more stomach for it either. If they were playing anyone else id still back them to bounce back but a stung tipp have to be aching to atone for the embarrassment of last August. But more importantly theyre good enough to beat them. Kk had to grind to a halt at some stage.

As for dublins crowning as Leinster champions im just happy ill get to be there. Truthfully while dublin have to go back to ythe well for five weeks in a row theyll be on a wave. A two week break would only let the hype get to them i think but next sunday should be a belter and hopefully all focus wil be on dublin. If we can match them physically, thats a big if, croker will suit us and we can beat them.

If anyone said to you coming out of Thurles the night of the 1B league final that you just witnessed two teams who would go on to beat Kilkenny and Tipp in the championship you’d possibly have mistaken that person for being Jim Corr.

Cunningham cant have planned for this.

Nullifying the control Rushe had this evening will require a big evenings work from Galway choosen lieutenant at 11.

Should be a decent atmosphere in Croker

First Leinster final without Kilkenny, Wexford or Offaly since 1948 apparently.

Should be an intriguing match. Like every other team the All-Ireland has opened up for Galway after the results over the last few weeks. Home advantage for the Dubs, momentum with them v playing 5 weeks on the trot…

What a championship this is turning into. My faith in GAA is being restored.

Yeah should be a good crowd even if most of their fair weather fans are taken up by tomorrow. Put conor cooney on him and get him to battle him and hit it over him too, rushe is only any use facing the ball. Im not sure niall burke has the work ethic for him. We need donnellan to find his form.

Conor Cooney was the first name I thought of!

I assume we’ll rotate our forwards as usual anyway.

Of course we will and itll be our undoing. No harm a few switches but this constant running around doesnt put any pressure on individual defenders, lets someone playing badly off the hook and suits rushe and carton. Leave canning in there early theres goals to be got.

Canning always starts around the square anyway so I assume Plan A will have Big Tan & Co lamping ball in that direction.

Who will be our mystery man at 6?

Playing Dublin will obviously suit Galway as they’ll be less paranoid about defence and might actually come out and play.

Really hard to know what to make of this. Dublin were abysmal against Wexford both nights and Kilkenny look like a shadow of themselves. Galway limped past a resurgent Laois. With Tipp potentially coming into the quarter finals it’s seriously worth winning for Galway.

On the basis that Cunningham and his selectors have fragmented and the momentum is with Dublin I’m expecting Dublin to win.

No doubt but leave him there dont panic after 5 minutes and drag him out if no ball is going in. Time for the rest to carry their own weight. Kav or regan? Kav is a better hurler but regan is physically stronger which is vital against dublin. Cant make my mind up.

Fuck yeah.:pint:

It’s hard to believe that’s the same team that were bullied all over the pitch by Wexford three weeks ago.

On the basis that Cunningham and his selectors have fragmented ?

Whats your meaning here?

That Martin Kiely is an awful cunt as anyone associated with Limerick GAA affairs will testify but that was great commentary in fairness.
