2014 All Ireland Under 21 Championship

There is an advantage rule in football now, chaps. Hence the ref going back and giving that free for McHugh in the first half when no advantage accrued.

Savage point for CabhĂĄn

Black card rule? Dublin defence crowding around like a basketball defence - blocking space but not tackling ball or player

I wouldn’t be so sure at all. I think Cavan are going to go on and win this.

Harsh enough free there. Hardly intentional

Cormac Costello actually should have been off on a black card for a trip there.

Ya but some are applying it like soccer, when i don’t believe it is the same. What we were told was if the instance of a shot or release of the ball to another player that if the player breaks free and has the opportunity to pass or shoot then thats his advantage. He doesn’t get a free shot which is what seems to be happening, and its also like the rule is pretty much only used in these scoring situations, where often a good advantage given in middle of field can lead to a goal.

don’t you know that rule only applies to numbers 2-9

I hope Dessie Farrell never gets the Dublin job, he’s a dinosaur of a manager tactically.

Jesus, Dub forwards are half asleep. Have wasted some glorious chances.

Burke and Ivory are a big improvement on what was there.

I think it’s a time based thing - as in, he can raise his hand for up to 5 seconds to signal that an advantage is in play. And he can then go back and award a free. Open to interpretation alright, I guess. I remember reading an overview of it on GAA.ie back in January.

not many refs would of given that black card

I see this all over this all over the internet. Where does it come from?

WTF are Cavan at bringing back on that no 6, he can barely fucking walk.

People writing like they speak

The ginger lands one

The Cavan player pulled McHugh’s jersey there and dragged him down. Would of :)been unlucky to get a black card.

McHugh levels it.

Moynagh is an outstanding player, but its a cruel and unusual punishment having him back out there.

Wouldn’t that be “should’ve”?
