2014 National Football League

All square in Navan. Black card earlier for Armstrong, heā€™d been playing well and itā€™s been all Meath since. This cunt Eamonn Wallace seems to be running rings around us

Galway had a 5 point lead in the 2nd half and now trail 3-14 to 3-8:rolleyes:
Mulholland has a decent cv ?? All Ireland under 21 and success with Salthill\Knock?

Galway have had every type of manager from local men to outside all Ireland winning managers e.g. Liam Sammon, Joe Kernan , Tomas Oā€™Flaharta and now another local man. Surely at this stage time for the players to stand up and less focus on the manager

The more time goes by the more it looks like Sammon got a raw deal. Galway played brilliant football under him in that all Ireland qf v Kerry in monsoon conditions. Havent come near that form 3 managers later!
He certainly has the CV, winning minor and under 21 all Irelandā€™s is a fantastic achievement, but Iā€™m not sure he has what it takes at senior level. Some of his team selections last year were beyond belief and nearly resulted in defeats to Tipp and Waterford in our own back yard. It was nearly by default that he ended up picking the right players for the games against Armagh and Cork. Donā€™t forget the defeat to Antrim the previous year as well.

Youā€™re right though, regardless of his managerial ability, players have to show a bit more leadership and there has been a serious absence of steel and hunger in Galway players for several years now. Sammon had them playing lovely football and was dispensed with too soon. In fairness to Kernan and O Flahartha, they were only given a season each to get it right. I think Mulholland has more to work with talent wise than either of those two, just not sure he knows how to make the best use of it. Anyway, theyā€™ve collapsed again today, Meath now lead 3-15 to 3-08

Seems to be magnificent fare here between Kildare and Mayo.

Goal by Gary Sice, 4 points in it but only a couple of mins left.

Some winning point by Paddy Brophy.

Kildare win 2-19 to 2-18.

Full time Meath 3-18 Galway 4-11

Final score in Navan Meath 3-18 Galway 4-11
Two great defences on show anyway:pGalway also missed a penalty in 1st half. Relegation dogfight by the sounds of things

Were you at it laz

No Faldo, thank fuckā€™ was listening to GBfm

How did the young lads play?was at a funeral so didnā€™t see or hear anything

Not great by the sounds of it but theyā€™ll all come on for it. Walsh was the best of them goaled in the first half. Meath missed a shitload, goals kept us in it but Meath were on a different level in the 2nd half and we looked all at sea. Our best lads were Army before the black, Conroy, Sice and Flynn when he came on. Didnā€™t hear much from James Kavanagh.

Commentators reckon fellas being afraid to pick up black cards was the reason for the goalfest. I wouldnā€™t say itā€™s all doom and gloom, Meath sounded like they were way ahead of us in terms of fitnes and we should improve with lads to come back as well. How we get on next week against Donegal will tell us a lot

Wins for Leitrim, Clare, Wicklow and Tipp in Div 4.

The great Johnny Doyle has committed to another year playing for Kildare.

Its going to be a long, long, yet short, year.

@myboyblue , why do you dislike the fact that Johnny Doyle is committing to another season?

I didnt dislike the fact that Johnny Doyle is committing to another season.

Some more townie than others
Both Clifford Murray were flaky as fuck, donā€™t qualify.

How have the black cards gone?

Going by the scoring very well. Early days, but could be the best thing to happen in football for years.
