2015 All Ireland Final - De Duds vs The Yerras

#skillz

Wide, probably.

I’m pretty sure he pucked the ball into the net against Cork in 1996.

Again you are talking about once offs and yes certain people are physically capable of getting over skill deficiency.

Don’t agree. Go and watch any teams walking into a match. Football teams are generally far bigger. Skills wise mastering hurling is much harder. Proof is gap between hurling and non hurling counties versus football where a non traditional county like Donegal came come from nowhere

Loads of footballers have come to football late I their teens and as a second sport. Few if any hurlers do.

Dumb post, Donegal have always been a football county.

Yes but not a traditional power House of football

What does that matter? They’ve always been a football county, it’s not as if they just took up the game and won one at their first attempt.

Absolute nonsense, all of it.
The reason counties can’t catch up in hurling and is resources and/or money.end of story.

If you went to leeds or frankfurters or Prague in the morning with a couple of million and the go ahead to teach hurling you’d have teams of a high standard in 25 years. But counties don’t have the for sight or the patience.

Galway are the biggest team in the country, end of.and I have seen enough of them this year.

There is a wider amount of skills you can pick up in hurling. But you don’t need them all to be successful.same as any sport.

More rubbish.Donegal, like mayo have always been producing footballers. In fact they did very well considering the loss of players they traditionally had. All that happened was McGuinness got them by the scruff of the neck.

football much easier game to pick up than hurling

Arguing anything else is bollix

Football teams are physically bigger than hurling teams on average

Arguing anything else is also bollix

Probably because hurling is a more unique game and skills from other games are less transferable.

I think the skill in hurling is vastly overrated, the game itself is very aimless and helter skelter, very little intelligence or cunning to it, gaelic football has evolved to a very tactical and methodical game. Hurling is very much still brainless roasters running round the pitch like they’ve just had a few too many cans of red bull.

That’s why it’s only popular in Tipperary and neighbouring counties.

Shur the greatest ever hurling team in history have repeatedly admitted that they don’t do tactics.

You are caging what you ate arguing now. But anyway you are still talking rubbish.

Cork hurlers are significantly bigger than the footballers. Galway hurlers, kerry footballers, Derry footballers and KillKenny hurlers are the biggest teams around. Mostly because a good big lad is bigger than a good small lad. However with derry it’s a cultural thing.

Alot of the ulster sides are actually quite small. Tyrone, down, Fermanagh all have had varying success with small teams in last 20 years. Clare the same in hurling.

There is no reason other than coaching and desire that Castle haven are a very good football club. Same as Newtown. There is no real difference in size of these groups of players when they were at their best. Midleton were a huge hurling tram in their heyday.that’s why they were successful.

It takes all sorts.

Ger Spillane won an All Star having not kicked a ball in a game all year.
