No, I said their attacking game plan looked bad against Donegal, they relied on two huge slices of luck for their goals and didn’t look very adept when it came to breaking them down.
Agree with @Nembo_Kid in relation to Kerry’s goals against Donegal. The first was a clear half block.
But Donegal-Armagh in the quarter final was played in fine conditions. I certainly didn’t get wet or feel cold in the stand that day.
I know from being told by a member of the kerry set up that that play was planned and practiced several times although they expected it later in the game. They identified McGee would follow Donaghy but also knew Geaney is good in the air and McGrath was a poor match up.
You haven’t a fucking notion what you are talking about and all you have done is exposed your unbelievable lack of understanding of the game. It’s astonishing you keep at this shit, and quite sad really.
It was very wet and slippery in the second half with a number of showers.
This is why Eamon Fitz Maurice finds it so easy to hoodwink ye thick brits
They might have planned it but O’Brien was definitely taking a shot in that instance and it was not a ball played inside. They got two huge breaks for their goals and didn’t really ask too many questions of Donegal defensively.
You fool. That was the tactics they employed.
Fitzmaurice has yet to beat a team from the O6 in Championship football. He’ll probably have to wait another year for a go after Sunday.
So the tactics they employed worked, once, inadvertently?
As for understanding of the game, my track record proves I understand the game a lot better than you. You will have more humble pie to eat on Sunday.
quit while you’re ahead and annoying everyone. Geaney should have had another goal in that game from a similar type high crossfield ball but he blazed over. Donaghy also won a couple of high balls in that they got points off. It was a clear tactic, but Donegal had it somewhat stopped after half time. Same goes for the kick outs. Watch it again and count how may times during the game Durcan gets flustered on his kick outs. He was abysmal all day long with his kicks as Kerry had him covered by withdrawing a corner forward and a half forward dropping ito the middle giving them 3 across the middle of the field. He was lost. It was un surprising what happened given how Kerry faced him on the kickouts all day.
Was it? Get out the gif/you tube for that one too please, pal?
He hasn’t played any you spastic
Ah lovely, we have lift off.
Is that the only other instance? The stats say that Kerry got 6 scores from play in that game, 2 of them goals with a huge element of luck to them. Another one of them an instance you highlighted there.
They got very little joy of Donegal in attacking sense. Donegal had the goal chance to O’Connor, the miss Lacey had in first half injury time where he should have popped it off to McLoone who was in on goal and the chance McFadden had off the post at the end.
If my stats are correct Eamon Fitzmaurice is undefeated in Championship against teams from Northern Ireland. That’s some record all the same.
@sidney @GeoffreyBoycott can either of you confirm?
Which is why I found the comment you made perplexing.
It was an unforced error whichever way you want to view Donaghy’s goal. It’s a mistake Durcan and there’s no getting away from that.
It was a forced error. He was forced into playing a short kickout to a questionable target because of Kerry’s kick out pressurizing strategy.
Forced meant he had no choice. Durcan had time and options and chose the wrong one.
