Pigs would have flown?
If me aunt had balls and all that
No need to, would never have been allowed by Maurice.
free staters have to look out for one another when these blanket defence, cynical, diving nordies come down.
Tsg, why do you nordies celebrate every single point like it’s the winning point?
What I have taken from today:
- It has been reaffirmed that the black card is a fucking joke.
- Whatever you think of him personally, Mickey Harte is one of the best managers in the history of the game.
- Kerry’s sheer depth of quality particularly in relation to kicking points will win them the All Ireland
- What a brilliant joke though. The ref waiting to see who has committed the foul to check what card he’ll give.
- I think he’s a cunt. He supports sean quinn.
- It may not win them it this year.
Your complete regression as a poster is worrying. The old TSG would have the whole board up in arms about the fact that the stadium was half empty. Your contributions of late have been very disappointing.
Are you from Tyrone?
He is at the moment. Or was until today at least. We’ll know more tomorrow.
Tyrone could very easily become the football version of Clare.
The idea behind the black card is noble but I’m starting to think it’s causing far more problems than it’s solving. I’d mostly put that down to referees but there’s also a case to be made that it’s changing players’ behaviour. Dick Clerkin’s article in Saturday’s Examiner is worth a read.
Going back to today’s minor match, I still say that was a disgrace of a black card, even though the Derry player was in the wrong.
Harte has a number of dislikeable personality traits but his greatness as a man cannot be questioned.
The alternative though is going back to the pulling and dragging that made the game unwatchable for years, or go the way of Aussie rules and the rugby tackle. The concept of a tackle in Gaelic is quite simple, you have to play the ball not the man, and the steps rule if implemented gives you plenty opportunity to play the ball. The problem for years is there was no effective deterrent for fouling outside scoring distance. Now there is as if you tackle the man, he can go to ground easy enough as in the case of the Marc O’Shea incident today, and off you go. Its harsh but makes for a better spectacle.
James Horan, while he clearly did an excellent job with Mayo overall, was rightly criticised for his consistent tactical blind spot with regard to his full back line.
Eamon Fitzmaurice, while he has clearly done an excellent job with Kerry overall, seems to me to have quite a tactical blind spot in regard to teams running at Kerry’s defence, and yesterday this was again a major issue for them, as it was against Dublin in 2013, Mayo in 2014 and Cork in 2015, when they shipped three goals each time. Interesting that Fitzmaurice has never received any criticism for this.
I think it’ll be a huge problem for them in the final irrespective of the opponents, but particularly if it’s Dublin.
It’s a penalty, he was spun around by O’Mahony first and foremost. That he had a hold to his jersey after the initial foul is beside the point.
So let me get this straight, the Tyrone lad is pulling out of the Kerry jersey while throwing himself on the ground claiming he was pulled and you think it is still a penalty. Would ya ever fuck off, Clear proof that it wasnt a penalty and the ref got it right. Even the Tyrone lads admit it wasn’t a penalty.
No O’Mahony is all over McNulty and spins him round where McNulty grabs his jersey as he falls down. I found it to be the most bizarre piece of analysis I’ve seen, they pretty much showed a still image and called it as a dive because McNulty had a quick grab of his jersey AFTER he was fouled.
O’Mahony fouled him without question.
Its is never a penalty, the original contact from the Kerry player prior to McNulty grabbing the Kerry jersey and diving is outside the penalty area. The most it would have been was a free from the 21.
