2015 All Ireland Football Championship - FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MAKE IT STOP

It was a penalty and it wasn’t a dive, O’Mahony has fouled him, it happens inside the area and should have been a penalty.

No it didn’t you can clearly see it happened outside the area.

No it wasn’t, it continued into the box.

“continued into the box”

Do you not play the advantage and then if none is accruing award the free/penalty from the site of the original foul ergo outside the box in this instance.

He was still being fouled inside the box ergo it’s a penalty.

You’re probably not wrong there. There’s still an element of the Kerry game that while they will take on board tactical innovations, they still believe that in the end, they’ll outscore you. It also doesn’t help that its been about 20 years since Kerry had a full back of note (not counting Seamus Moynihan and Mike Mc as both were shoehorned into the role). They get away with it for a number of reason, not least the fact that they don’t tend to turn over possession easily, and that they generally have two very good corner backs to cover.

As regards the final, I think it’ll be Mayo, because, possibly and most likely for the same reason as stated above, I think that Dublin full backline is there to be got at, primarily because O Carroll doesn’t seem as fit or mobile as other years. Aidan O Shea could go to absolute town on him if he gets any sort of half decent possession.

One other thing, Anthony Maher has turned into some player.

I can’t remember who said it on the radio (possibly Martin McHugh) before the game about Kerry defences not liking or used to being run at. He referred to the Kerry club scene and while a number of club teams, and Kerry themselves, can play the blanket defence when they transition to attack it is through kick passing rather than running with the ball which would be the preference of the Northern teams. Ipso facto Kerry defenders would have little experience of being able to deal with runners through the centre of the defence.

Bomber badly exposed here.

Video evidence is pretty damning. Tyrone fella should get a serious ban for shirt pulling, simulation and bringing the game into disrepute.

I’ve backed Mayo for the AI. I really think this is their year.
I think I may have lost the plot altogether. :confounded:

Im still getting over the statement “and it continued into the box” so that means its a penalty. Maybe @caoimhaoin is right.

If he’s still being fouled inside the box it’s a penalty. Are you slow?

Not if the initial Foul was outside the box. The Ref will blow for the initial foul not for the one that continued into box.

He can blow for a penalty if he’s played the advantage and still being fouled inside the box.

Ah here Nembo you are just making a show of yourself now. Here is the advantage rule

Advantage Rule is defined as:
“When a foul is committed the referee
may allow the play to continue if he considers it to be to the advantage
of the offended team. He shall signal that advantage by raising an arm
upright. If he deems no advantage to have occurred, he may subsequently
award a free for that foul from where it occurred*. The referee shall
allow the advantage to run by maintaining his arm in the upright
position for up to five seconds after the initial foul or for less time
if it becomes clear that no advantage has accrued. He shall apply any
relevant disciplinary action.”

It’s nothing to do with the advantage rule, he was still being fouled inside the box, it’s a penalty as the foul was taking place inside the box. What part of that do you fail to understand?

He can blow for a penalty if he’s played the advantage and still being fouled inside the box.

Ah here

He can’t, pal.
