2015 All Ireland Football Championship - FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MAKE IT STOP

Was David Moran not taken off against Tyrone?

Played with an injury and was called ashore with the game won at ten minutes to go.

Game won?!!

When did Tyrone get the penalty? I thought it would have been with around 10 minutes to go.

Are you saying David Moran isn’t worthy of being in the running to win an All Star? Are you saying he was poor against Tyrone?

Where did I say any of that?

I would have said Anthony Maher was a better player for Kerry this year and more deserving of POTY.

I’m asking you are you saying it? Your post makes the suggestion.

As planned, proba ly shouldn’t have played and management were under strict orders he only had 45/50 mins in him

In terms of midfielders I would have Maher number 1 as an All Star. I haven’t given it much thought other than that.

I would have said Moran was ok against Tyrone. I didn’t realise he was carrying an injury.

Watching the matches is a help. Maher has been better than Moran.

I generally find all this talk of All Star selections etc utter shite talk personally (see Totti’s hilarious weekly All Star selection or Sidney’s Lions Monthly selections for examples) so I tend to steer away from it. I just wondered if you were dismissing Moran is all. A huge influence in Kerry’s only two Championship wins of note this year. Moran obviously has had a fine solid year and is the standout midfielder in the country at present, but generally his ilk sadly get forgotten come All Star selection time for the flashier performance in the final (see Donnchadh Walsh for example).

Anyway given the idiots who pick this maybe Sid or Totti’s hilarious selections might actually have a chance.

Anything to add except “I’m always right”?

Is this the Mattie Donnelly who was outstanding all year, and the David Moran who was taken off against Cork and Tyrone?

David Moran is player of the year by a country mile imo

Donnelly had far more influence on the game than Moran had.

Some people would appear to be under the misapprehension that last year’s Kerry-Mayo replay counts towards this year’s All-Stars.

Agree fully. Maher has had an outstanding year.

Brogan is my player of the year, think he is in the form of his career and his game has really developed a lot this year. I always thought he was a bit overrated but I’m willing to take a step back from that viewpoint now.

I’d definitely have Petey Harte in there, think he has been Tyrone’s best player all year round. Probably the most competitive line on the pitch however.

I didn’t see the semi final but I reckon Enright of Kerry was on course for an allstar at corner back up to that

Agree fully on Brogan. 2010 was arguably as impressive of a year by any player in memory for me. Hadnt reached those levels since. Then you begin to question whether than was him playing above himself. This year he has oozed class in each match I have seen him (granted many were turkey shoots).

An Intercounty career of real Impact which sadly cant be said for someone of arguably greater ability - Mr Connolly

He did in his fuck. He was made a complete passenger. Kerry shut him down totally.

He gets taken off generally to protect him. He was black carded the first day against Cork but was excellent the second day. He was again superb from the start against kildare and while maybe not as good as Maher on that day, he was still the better midfielder on show for the time he played. Maer shone really when he went off and particularly after the penalty
