Essentially doing the Journalistic courses etc, plus the actual experience of playing results in someone with the interest & passion to really discuss the sport. Lads will say that incident is no big deal blah blah, but someone spent 2 days in Hospital & that’s okay? The line needs to be drawn.
wooly clamping the fuck out of jim gavin
Why did he spend two days in hospital?
No one can complain about the media & imaging on the new site, #selfpraiseisnopraise
Fucked if i know
Internership
You can read between the lines from what Gavin is saying that Byrne deserved it. Probably unfortunate his nose was broken but it seems pretty obvious he went looking for bother and got it. Won’t stop the Southern Media from going after the big bad Nordies with a hatchet though.
Fair play to Parkinson. He’s the anti Brian Carthy and Des Cahill - he’ll ask the hard questions and he doesn’t seem to give a fuck who is involved or whether they’ll get a bit uncomfortable.
A lad on one of the most high profile teams in the country had the shit beaten out of him (deserved or not) in a match BEFORE the ball was thrown in but the people involved are happy to brush it under the carpet because the two players involved “had a frank discussion afterwards and are happy to move on”.
To be honest it happens in every single county that stuff like this gets brushed away. The GAA top brass should be calling in all concerned and getting to the bottom of this but fuck all chance of some leadership coming from Paraic Duffy or any of the top lads. Can’t be upsetting any counties in the middle of championship season.
Nice to see all the lads getting on board with regards Woolie
Cat got your tongue @Juhniallio
What? You want me to sing a fella’s praises because he finally did something approaching his job after 4 fucking years? Fuck off. You’d know you’re hard pushed for achievement in Laois if you celebrate this fucker.
He took on the manager of the biggest county team in the country and didnt back down, regardless of his attempts to stonewall. There’s not a cunt in the media for their entire careers who would have the nuts to do so. Doing his job, then none of the cunts apart from Kimmage are doing their job. They all sat on their holes and let McGuinness fillet a colleague a few years ago. Doing their jobs? Fuck off.
Also, you’d have to feel for Galway this weekend, coming up against that Armagh team that tasted blood only a few days ago. God help them.
Screwy Comer against Armagh should be a fascinating battle.
I can’t see how this will do Armagh any good. They are likely to be watche like hawks by officials and any rough play could be more harshly dealt with than normal.
Has to see Totti acting the hard man about armaghs toughness in one post an a couple of posts down then bemoaning the perception of the big bad nordies in the media. What a mope.
Funny thing is, I don’t think Armagh club football is that rough or dirty from talking to and playing with armargh lads. It seems to be reserved for the county team. I would say Kerry club football would be a lot rougher than most nordie counties. Having played in the Wicklow leagues that would also be rougher than any experience I had with nordie lads. Derry and to a lesser extent Tyrone being notable exceptions.
Pity that anybody who isn’t at the match will see none* of it.
*10 seconds of highlights.
I believe they’re going to send Anna Geary up to it.
I think we would appreciate balanced coverage. The media seem to be trying to lay the blame at the door regarding Armagh with this when evidently it looks like a skirmish broke out between two players and one came off worse. I highly doubt Dublin would be eager to completely brush this one under the carpet if it was unprovoked.
The hatchet job done on Armagh last year in a brawl that Cavan started where the only injury of note was a Cavan player breaking his hand while punching Armagh’s star player on the ground was shocking. Plenty of vultures out for Armagh and other teams should realise that getting physical with them is not a good idea.
It’s only really an issue if Ulster teams are involved as there’s a wider agenda at play. Think it’s time for Armagh to tell the media to shove it.
No McKeever or Dyas, two huge losses. Not sure if Tony Kernan is injured or not but it does leave Armagh short of a free taker from the left, presumably Campbell will take over the role but he wouldn’t be known for his frees.
have the other clubs upped their game to try and catch Cross? Good spread of clubs. I know this doesn’t always tell the full story, but any sign they are catching up? Cross don’t have the dominant players they had a few years ago.
