2015 BDO World Professional Darts Championship - The Magic of Lakeside

Woman in crowd just woken up by a concerned friend after Adams game, would’nt blame her for falling into a deep coma.

Wolfie rolls back the years and completes a 5-1 victory. Ross just couldn’t quite raise himself to last night’s heights but the Boss can console himself with a the knowledge that he’s had a fine year. Dutch Open champion, a first World Championship quarter-final and continued success as Scotland captain. It took Wolfie a long time to finally rid himself of his World Championship demons. Ross can look to the grand old man’s example and really kick on from here. Expect a serious assault on the title next year from him.

Based on what I saw in the later stages of that quarter final, Wolfie has every chance of been crowned the world’s top darts player for a 4th time on Sunday night. It would be some achievement at 58. Shades of Tom Watson at the Open in Turnberry in 2009.

Adams to win it. Any lady in his life these days?

Ross in tears backstage. But as Wolfie says, “Scotland should be proud of him.”

Weird timing that - no?

Best of 7 yesterday evening and back for best of 9 this afternoon.

Why did Taylor step down a division Jimmy?

The most newsworthy story on Phil Taylor in 2001 was his conviction at Dunfermline Sheriff Court in March 2001 of sexually assaulting two young women.

Serious question.

Why would you go T18 D7 when left on 68 ?

When you’re the greatest player in the world you can do as you like.

I think the great Martin Adams knows more about darts finishing than the shit eater.

Jeff Smith and Robert Green are on the hockey and it’s GAME ON.

A 180 for Jeff in the first leg and it’s first blood to the Canuck.

Woof

A 116 check out by Jeff to take the decisive 5th leg of the first set. Brilliant stuff.

Superb recovery by The Silencer to take the first set after he’d hit a nine darter of missed doubles in leg 3. He is as cool as a cucumber.

So no one can tell me why Martin Adams went T18 D7 when left on 68 - it is idiocy beyond belief.

Any player worth their salt would go either :
T20 D4
T12 D16

Wolfie could just as easily have gone for treble 14 double 13. He’s that good.
