Quality darts here.
Moment of the match was when Hughes hit 170 from 202 to leave 32 which he then took out with the first dart.

Defending champion Lisa Ashton against all-time great Trina Gulliver coming up next at the home of darts.
A brilliant reception for Trina. Wonderful scenes but I expected nothing less.
some walk on and reception for Triona there, magic!!!
Trina left a lipstick mark on Lisa’s cheek. A lovely moment before the start as she wiped it off with a towel. Total respect and camaraderie.
A 14-dart leg by Lisa to start. Sheer class.
Wow. A 15-dart leg for Lisa to win the first set 3-0. She’s got a 75% success rate on the doubles too. That’s better than the standard in Ally Pally.
Sad to see Trina up there
4/5 on doubles now. Sublime.
5 legs on the spin for Lisa now.
5/7 on doubles.
Averaging over 90 too.
poor triona, she does not deserve to go out like this
Incredible display by Lisa. A 74 out shot to win it. 6 legs reeled off on the trot. Averaged over 90 and 75% on the doubles.
Sad to see Gulliver’s travels at the Lakeside come to such an abrupt end though.
Scotty Waites, carrying a shoulder injury, versus Ross Montgomery, carrying a horrible wart on his arm.
They’re hanging from the rafters at The Lakeside. It appears to be a capacity crowd, as usual.
WARNING! WARNING!
IT’S THE BOSS!!
102 and 120 check outs for The Boss to take the first two legs.

Gulliver has been a giant of the Ladies’ game for so long but Lisa Ashton is the new generation.
It’s a bit like when Eric Bristow faded from the scene and was replaced by Raymond van Barneveld as the kingpin of the men’s game.
A clash of the Scot/ts here, and a classic England-Scotland clash as Scotty Waites takes on Ross Montgomery. Scottish darts is at a real low at the moment, without a world champion since Les Wallace in 1997, but the Dutch Open champion will be hoping to put that right this year. And the Scotland captain has taken the first two legs.
