Bring it home lads a Limerick club will never have as good a chance to win again, the Antrim boys will be no push overs but NAPs experience against Loughiel few years back will surely kill off any notions of a handy final.
God we made hard work of that. OTB moving sinnot back centre back really tightened up that line and we couldn’t win a ball in the second half. OTB got their tactics spot on for large stretches and Na P played into their hands, I think we got our forwards line up wrong too. O’Donoghue got motm, he was even more impressive when I watched it back. But Dempsey was motm for me and those around me at the game, 4 points, all in the second half or extra time when Na P were under serious pressure, he kept us in the game. Downes really stood up in injury time. The OTB corner back spent the entire game fouling Casey and could have been sent off twice for striking with the hurley that wasn’t picked up on tv, and casey still cleaned him. OTB were far better than I expected and will feel they were a bit unlucky I imagine. The ref was pedantic and inconsistent, bad for both teams but worse for Na P dishing out yellow cards for nothing.
Well done NaP. I was a little worried for them with the Loughiel extra time in mind and OTB’s dominance at that stage.
Hopefully they’ll not bottle it on St Patrick’s day, no reason to think they will.
How far does NaP’s catchment area extend, if a young lad in Ballynanty or Clancy strand wanted to play hurling is that their club?
5 McGoldrick brothers lining out for Eoghan Rua today in Croke Park. Thats what Club is about. Thats whats great about these Championships. They’ll probably get hockeyed by Glenmore, but fuck it.
Might have a chance seeing as Glenmore are without Aylward.
Great that these are on telly. No reason to watch rugby now, the day is sorted.
Sean Leo is meant to be a very handy hurler.
That shaking hands, Champions League style at the start of the game has to stop
Super score
That’s a score and a half out of a full back on the run.
2in it with 2 to play.
Eoghan Ruadh have been terrific since the 10th minute
Glenmore hold on to become the first club to win all Ireland hurling titles at 2 grades
And now Bennettsbridge have become the second
Just watching NaP game… Some start from Oulart, they probably should have been more up after 10/15…some great battling from NaP all the same, what with them being townies…Breen is flying it.
H’on Breeno. Lovely finish.
Jaysus… The score Kirwan got to put two in it was a blatant free out, then he gave Oulart a ridiculous free in on Casey to leave one between them.
He allowed Lynch two attempts to jab lift the ball for the mishit free which resulted in the goal - should have been a throw in. The free itself was awarded in the first instance when number 9 over carried and then dived. It’s been widely acknowledged that Oulart were the better team and were robbed, pal.
Rest assured, I’m gonna put the asterisk beside their inevitable All Ireland win on wikipedia when the time comes.
I’ve been skipping ahead so haven’t seen everything, pal…I’ll wait until after extra time to comment.
@bandage, does that corner back Kehoe who got cleaned out by Young Casey and should have been sent off twice actually play for Wexford?
