2015 Club Championships - the lads are STILL at it

Its not in the sense that the club champio ship in kerry is not tied to AI Series. However they are wrong by that wording in having anyone at all in it.

Wonder what Nemo will do. Probably nothing as thats the type they are, just play the game. I doubt they would want free passage to final. But on those grounds it seems they should waltz thru.

They should know the rules by which their own competitions are run. As FOD stated, rule 6.24 is pretty clear.

Typical self-preserving bollocks from Kerry and Munster, always protecting and aiding the golden child.

That’s only if they win it though. If a divisional team wins it it’s the club champions that go through.
I think it used to be as you say until recently but they changed it a few years back.

They can and are perfectly entitled to. It’s against the GAA’s rules. I’ve quoted the relevant passage above.

Is the ground in Tralee available? If so the replay should be played under lights on Wednesday.

In 2013 St. Vincent’s and Ballymun drew the Dublin final after extra-time on the Sunday and the replay was played on the Wednesday night to allow the winners to participate in the Leinster club championship the following Sunday.

They now have Div 1 teams playing in Junior & Intermediate AI Competitions.

I think its fair to say there is not a more competitive Div 1 in the country. All those teams would be comfortably of Senior standard anywhere else.

Templenoe would challenge and probably win most Intermediate competitions in Ireland. St. Marys would certainly be very competitive in any Senior comp.

But surely the reason they’re in the Junior or Intermediate is because they haven’t won the Championship to get promoted or am I mistaken?

St Marys struggled to beat Upperchurch in the Munster Club.

Kerry are loopholing. Claiming even though it was a draw the championship has actually been concluded by having a final.

Ya thats fair enough. I was not fully aware of the rules. You are right.

I was under impression, and this was the way at one point, that a county could nominate whoever they wanted.

Dingle have no case going by those rules.

I see Nemo getting a walkover. Kerry will not play on wednesday. Too many players not living at home. Friday maybe at a stretch.

OR

The Munster Coucil use their head and get Nemo onside and wait a week.

Haha, part of me hopes they get that one through because to even try it takes some balls.

Yes. But the point is they more or less play senior football all year. There is only 8 teams next year allowed play senior championship. Thats one hell of a small field. Makes other grades even stronger. You will maybe have Austin Stacks playing Intermediate next year. That also means the Tralee District aide would have Stacks.

Nothing wrong with it by the rules, but they are shaping it well for themselves.

I doubt they thought it through to be honest.

It would appear the answer is no. I’m presuming there is no other suitable ground available given that Killarney doesn’t have floodlights.

The other alternative is to play the replay on Saturday and go ahead with the provincial matches on Sunday as scheduled. Plenty of other counties have done so.

Whats your point?

The issue is St. Mary’s are out in the Munster intermediate next weekend and make up a chunk of South Kerry.

Kerry clearly contravening rules here by sending forward their adjudged strongest team in conflict with the regulations laid out. I think if it was Dr Crokes who were club champions then there would be no doubt who’d be put forward.

Typical unethical Munster football governance.

Yea, 5 of the starting 15 are Mary’s I think.

I know that. They have the same issue as Legion do if Legion win.
