I didn’t say they needed him on the sideline, I’d say they’d rather him there - stop taking statements that aren’t even there. I find it quite ironic that you think if players need their manager on the line they are in trouble on one hand, while on the other hand it is management’s fault if a player goes out and is guilty of a stupid piece of indiscipline ala Seamie O’Shea.
And so you’ll have no problem naming the club team/s he managed before he managed Dublin.
Whoever designed that yoke on the right should be taken out and shot.
In terms of All-Ireland success, you are correct.
Tommy Lyons and Brian McIver had relative success at inter-county level but did not become elite managers.

*not the former Dublin manager
Rochford didn’t transform Corofin, no more than Kevin McStay transformed St. Brigid’s when he took over them. Both Corofin and St. Brigid’s were already well established top club teams when they took over.
Jesus kev step away from the keyboard . You are punch drunk and making a show of yourself. Still entertaining though I will give you that.
Think the rule has changed. Or that’s what I was told today.
I always had you down as being in your 30s for some reason.
Harsh on MDMA but you’re probably right, he is a manufactured footballer
hadnt heard that. The whole extra time thing needs to be sorted anyway. Bullshit that you can have players sent off but you can bring on lads to replace them in extra time, especially when yellow cards carried through.

What are you on about
I am in my 30’s. Started playing at 5, coaching at 17. Actually coaching 22 years
Was there many U5’s playing U12’s back then? Think Beano was going at 6 in Laois and won 5 U12’s in a row. Playing U12 at 5 though is some achievement.
He did, at least according to the players themselves. Very much into skill develooment. They were largely a very fit hard running team in previous years. A number of new players brought through as well.
Obviously many others in the club contributed to this first, but he certainly changed them and got alot out of them.
Its hilarious to read what “armchair” supporters think is needed to build a team or indeed how clubs work or players train. They are amateurs, they don’t just retain ability or improve without coaching. Colm Parkinson write a decent article recently about how he was never coached playing inter county. Gave a great insight into why Laois never capitalized on the obvious talent. Corofin players have spoke about Rochford improved them even late in their careers.one of the main reasons the Mayo players lost confidence in their manageme t is because they got rid of the skills coach. This is real coaching. And players appreciate that more than anything else.
I played a bit in another clubs street leagues at about 6. That was u9. My own club had smallies training every week for us. It was largely mixed games. Obviously there was no competitions.
Ah yea, much like me and me friends. We used to play in the garden too when we were younger.
Muppet
We also used to go up and hurl/kick the balls back to the seniors while they were training. Serious drills.
You still haven’t named the club team/s Pat Gilroy managed before becoming Dublin manager, Kev.
I’d be intrigued to find out their identity.
