2015 O'Byrne Cup, Walsh Cup, and other lesser Provincial Competitions Thread

I disputed his statement where he said Clarke played as a sweeper last year.

My other point was looking at the context of why Clarke may have been deployed in the half back. This seems to be all too complex for you to understand.

That and your complex grammar.

Is that your effort at an apology?

FAO @Il Bomber Destro

Can you throw up the Armagh team for this Sunday’s McKenna Cup game when you get a chance please?

Thanking you in advance.

Armagh (SF v Antrim): M McNeice; M McConville, B Donaghy, M Murray; M Shields, F Moriarty, J Clarke; A Findon, S Campbell; S Forker, M McKenna, E McVerry; O Mac Iomhair, C Rafferty, N McConville.

Is that Jason Clarke from From Carrickcruppen at left half back?

Jamie from Cross.

Fascinating.

Geezer’s lost it - did he ever have it?

Clarke should have gone travelling when he had the chance. Look, its the pre season competitions, we’ve all see weird shit tried in it, but this seems particularly mental. Allied to the deep role he gave him last year as well at times, well its just bizarre really.

Play Clarke in a 2 man full forward line (he gets double marked already) with a physical strong ball winner and let him feed off him.

Or even move him out to centre forward or at a diamond off a 2 man full forward line, but this won’t tie in well with Geezers 13 men behind the ball gameplan. I’d say Oisin McConville will be sick at the sight of this and will nearly kidnap Clarke and put him on a plane himself shortly.

What games did Clarke play deep last year?

It’s worth noting Clarke has dramatically underachieved in his inter county career to date. McGeeney feels that this move can add something to a game. It’s a warm up competition and there is no harm experimenting. I very much doubt he will be playing there come Championship.

Against Donegal, 4 of his 6 second half touches alone took place nearly 40 yards from the Donegal goal and he wasn’t on the ball at all inside Donegal’s 45m line in the last 25 minutes.

Well?

Huh? Donegal mate, its even backed up with the data above.

Jamie Clarke wing back, as I stated earlier in this thread. Geezer is the man

That’s a matter of the opposition, look at how deep the likes of O’Donoghue and McManus had to operate last year when facing Donegal.

its an odd move alright but if a lad isn;t enjoying his football or feels he is not getting enough ball then there is no better position to play than wing back in a meaningless game to get in amongst the action and start enjoying the game again…

 Its probably all Aaron Kernans fault really.
