2015 Summer Transfer Window Thread

Why criticize them for it? It’s as old as the transfer system itself.

I didn’t criticise them for it either

Utd don’t need Pedro, they need an actual CF.

Might as well buy Pedro as well for the shits and giggles

Agreed Harry. Our wide men are decent.

Pedro would have been a great addition. We need some more pace and goalscoring ability.may his arse get infected from his Chelsea splinters.

Chelsea have announced the signing of Pedro from Barcelona. Hard to believe no one else was in for him.

I don’t believe he is that big of a loss to Man Utd.

His record is a goal every four matches for Barcelona, in a team blessed with attacking and creative talent.

He is 28 as well.

I’ll tell you what,if we go and jizz 30 million on Mané, i will be fuming. Seething almost.

Agreed. They are well covered for attacking players anyways after the big money they splashed out last year on Falcao and Di Maria

I’ve half a horn here looking at it.

im a big fan

His game isn’t about goal scoring and creating. His game and role in Barca was to lead their pressing and set the tempo, he was also very good at making selfless runs and occupying two or three defenders at a time with his movement with his high energy and clever movement. He is a similar player to Willian at Chelsea if probably as not a tecnical footballer as him but far better movement

Mane is a pretty good player tbf

At a value of £15m, yeah.

At anything above that, no he does not represent value at prices quoted.

I’m not sure he’s what United need either but:

  1. He has plenty of appearances from the bench. If you take it over 90 minutes I think he’s a goal every 2.2 games or something. It’s not too shabby at all for a winger.

  2. I don’t think his age is a neagative factor. 28 is about peak. United didn’t want him as a prospect, they have some of those. Van Gaal wanted him for the next 2-3 seasons: and he’s affordable so it’s not a huge outlay.

I don’t know he would have been that natural a fit though if Rooney doesn’t become an indispensable striker again. Depay, Mata and Pedro behind Rooney only works if Rooney stays in the box. Pedro’s threat of running behind does help with Rooney drifting deep but it would have been asking an awful lot to expect him to become a more regular goalscorer now.

I don’t rate Pedro, like a lot of Barcelona players they are indoctrinated into the Barca/Spanish system and when you take them out of it they can’t adapt.
