I’ve heard a good bit about this Danny Tallon lad. Will he be stepping up next year or another while yet?
Plays for Glen?
They’ve had some underage success over the recent years but think McFaul and Emmett Bradley are the only ones to progress to senior yet. Tallon had AFL trials if I’m thinking of the right guy.
A quick check tells me Conor Glass is the guy I’m thinking of. Both of them play for Glen.
Yeah, big things expected of those 2. Didn’t they win 3 (maybe 4) ulster minor clubs in a row? Tallon will either play afl or go to shit after a stellar fresher year with UUJ/Queens. He’s probably finished first year actually. But still.
Yeah they’ve won 4 minor A titles in Ulster on the trot.
Tallon is not on the current minor team so must turn 19 sometime this year. Glass is still minor this year, know a guy who teaches in Maghera and said they absolutely rave about him there. I was told he’s even better than Conor McKenna was a couple of years ago but I’ll believe that when I see it. Looks like he’ll be off down under after the summer in any case.
Just seen that Gareth McKinless suspension is up and he is available tonight but apparently McIver has ruled him out of contention for this one. Derry named their 26 on Thursday so I’m not sure if changes can/will be made to that.
I’d imagine the match ups will be something along the lines
Rogers v Murphy
Duffy v McFadden
McBride v McBrearty
McKaigue v Mac Niallais
Johnson v Toye
McFaul v McHugh
Derry are well capable of winning their battles there and if they can get big performances from McGoldrick, Lynch and Bradley then they’ll win.
I hope Derry bring hunger and intensity today, if they do they’ll give Donegal lots of it.
Donegal are in great form at the minute. I’m calling it Derry 1-10 Donegal 1-10.
Derry beating Donegal in the minor at HT. 0-05 to 0-03.
This would be a massive shock.
Conor Glass with two 45s for Derry.
Conor Glass with two more points.
Derry lead 0-07 to 0-03.
This guy is probably ready for senior right now.
2 down approaching injury time and Donegal have pointed a penalty
And finishes 0-11 to 0-10 in Derrys favour. Ulster footballs future is safe in these boys hands.
Well done Derry.
Poor enough crowd here is it?
Derry wouldn’t have a very committed following at county level.
Huge early chance there, good save.
What was that free for?
O’Boyle is causing problems.
Beginning to get tasty. Not sure why Magee wasn’t spoken to or carded after that shove on McGoldrick.
O’Boyle is motoring well.
Great point by Lynch. Donegal looked a bit clueless with their last attack. Desperate shot by McFadden after they effectively gave up trying to break Derry down. They still look more dangerous but it’s a close game.
Donegal are rattled badly here.
