I was hoping theyâd breach 30 points. That wouldâve been wonderful.
Watching the game again last night. A 20 point margin wouldnât have flattered Tipp.
Having said all that, if I was to critiscising Tipp in any way, conceding 2-20 is not great. If you told Michael Ryan at 3 pm yesterday they would concede 2-20 he wouldnât have e bothered sending the team out.
Iâm scuttered on Callan buh. Dunno will i make it in.
Yâknow the more i think about it, the more Iâm thinking that BCâs pride got the better of him yesterday. He tried to go toe to toe with a team of better hurlers and got taken. The next big game he meets chipp in could be a very different story.
Oh Iâd say heâs plotting it already

If Cody leads Kilkenny to an All Ireland next year he will be the greatest manager in any sport , anywhere , ever.
Limerick for Liam 2017.
Codyâs stock has plummeted after standing there like a statue looking at his full back line leak 2-15 from play with not one of the full back line called ashore.
Anthony Cunningham was lambasted last year by all the pundits for taking an hour to make a change to curb Callinan. Not one media outlet that I have heard or read in the last 24 hours has commented on the complete failure of the Kilkenny management team to do anything about the same man running riot yesterday. At least Cunningham eventually moved over John Hanbury, a penalty was given away that actually saved a goal.
Jackie Tyrrell was listed as a sub but heâs barely played in the last two years. By all accounts Jackie gave a great speech in the dressing room at half time during least yearâs final which was the catalyst for the second half revival. Was Jackie just brought along for the oratory skills again?
Are the magic mushrooms good this year?? Seems so .
Fixed that there for ya kid.
Yesterday I thought Cody might go after this looking at the lack of quality of new players coming through. But on reflection, I think the thick head on him will not allow him to leave after a mauling by Tipp.
Iâve given that a like Geoff but Iâm not so sure youâre right in stating his stock has plummeted. Certainly, yesterday want a great day at the office for him and yes he did seem he was caught in the headlights yesterday. But I certainly wouldnât write him or Kilkenny off.
Also Kilkennys losses in AIHF since 2000 have been pretty heavy. Cork by 9 in 04,
Tipp by 10 in 10 and 9 yesterday. So yesterdays 9 point defeat wasnât that unlike earlier patterns
Heâs in an ideal position. Retired school teacher. Plenty of time on his hands. Iâd say bar an utter collapse in results in the next couple of seasons, his departure will be decided by himself.
Cody deserves huge plaudits over the course of his career, Iâm not denying that. He has advantages though that no other inter county manager has. For years he had 20/21 players of the highest inter-county quality to choose from when most of the rest of the teams would be in single digit territory as regared players of the requisite standard.
Yesterday was a bit like looking at a good Kilkenny team facing a bad Wexford or Offaly side. They hang in there for the first half, it gets ugly after time and the hapless Wexford or Offaly manager hasnât the first clue what to do to stop the bleeding. When Cody has a bad day at the office, like he did yesterday, he seems to be above criticism. Imagine the ridicule that Davy, Derek McGrath or even Anthony Cunningham would have been subjected to if they had presided over a rout like that?
Yesterday was the worst beating Kilkenny have every got under Cody. They were beaten by 9, but it could have been double that. They lost by 8 in the 2010 final but there was still only 3 or 4 in it going into injury time and Lar banged in a goal last puck of the game.
Galway bet them worse
Nicky English was fairly sauced yesterday evening and according to report on this he was having a few pints early enough today. Iâd love to know at what point he wrote his article for the times.
I doubt he writes his own article. Phone call on a Sunday evening Iâd say
I heard him giving his report on the phone as I walked along side him after a match in Cork a few years back.
Well mate, what kind of a day had you? Hope you werenât driving to work anyway.
I was concerned that you would make a decision at 12 last night to stay out
