Tipp just aren’t good enough. People were making scapegoats of the likes of Shane McGrath and Woodlock when both of them are probably still at least as good as what we’ll put out in midfield
For another season maybe, long term NO. You ape.
Once again with the game in the melting pot, Tipp lads go MIA.
Tipp lads are terrified of the Kilkenny Jersey.
Late goals saved Cody’s skin there. I’d say he was out had Tipp won.
Meh. The first KK goal was helped by Barrett slipping so hardly a MIA moment. KK at home were always going to be hard beaten.
Tipp management should be looking at the numerous wasted chances in the first half with the wind advantage. That was a killer, missed goal chance from Kenny & a host of poor wides. Gap was never enough.
Says the buck who’s crowd have seen them up close twice in 9 years.
All I’m saying is that people were blaming good servants like them when none of the players available to replace them are any better. Don’t know what you mean by long term either, Kilkenny don’t get rid of players because they won’t be good enough in 3 years time. Keep them there until better lads are there to replace them
Ah. It’s February lads.
With a faster ball and callinan back I’d be scared of no one.
Kk got lucky there. They were shown up in lots of positions. Deffo there for the taking this year.
Michael Ryan used Hammill, McCormack, Quinn, Meagher, Kenny & Coffey today. New blood tried.
We get beaten in Nolan Park in February and you are pining for Woodlock & McGrath? They are gone, move on.
The panel will learn from that today. Not the end of the world.
Another tight game lost by Chipp is the main point from today.
Leading for 69 minutes, only to lose by 5. Mental block at clutch time.
Has to be a massive sickner. Huge mental block. Will never be able to step foot on a pitch with KK without that eating away at them.
Bottlers.
Donal seems to have brought out Davy’s feminine side.
Should Brendan Maher not be a shoo-in at midfield?
A good half-back, but a better midfielder imo.
He can play there at his ease but shoring up the halfback line should be Ryan’s biggest issue.
I’m not pining for them to come back, I’m laughing at the people who made them scapegoats when other more fashionable players were playing just as bad, Brendan Maher for example. I’d still have them on the panel if available because there isn’t many/any better options
Man of the match
Realistically, Paudie Maher will start somewhere in the half-back line and Barry at centre-back could work (although they miss him at full-back). Surely there must be another good wing-back in Tipp? Ronan Maher, John Meagher, Tossy Hamill- all hugely promising youngsters, I wouldn’t be putting Brendan Maher there when there does seem to be a lack of midfielders. Midfield has been a bit of weakness for a while, have been outfought there in big games a few times.
