Joe Fortune and Cunningham spent the year at each others throats. When the County Board bizarrely decided to give Cunningham another year they decided Joe had to go. It would not be unreasonable to surmise that Cunningham had a big say in this decision.
I think it’s a shocking way to treat people. Joe has been involved in Dublin under age teams for 15 years and has had plenty of success at it. When the other long streak of piss heads off back to Cork next year with his sack of cash, we are going to be left with a lot of pretty discontented lads like Joe.

He was called in in 2014 but they didn’t keep him. I think it was to do with his puck outs. He also had a disastrous county final against Clara in 2015.
I imagine they’ll call him in again seeing as everyone is saying Richie Reid will be moved out field.
