Bit unfair to put Wexford in with 3 professional teams but at least the 3 home games should be some bit of compensation for it.
Parnell Park unplayable, so the Dublin v IT Carlow match has bizarrely been moved to Carlow. Surely there was a Club ground that could have held it?
They tend not to use club grounds bizarrely. Would have thought Parnells pitch in Chanel was suitable. Most of college grounds booked up or not suitable.
Nevermind…
“Clint Horan”
There was talk of him transferring to a certain club in Clare, that he was working in Limerick in one of the banks.
Is he not a teacher? I’m pretty sure he’s a teacher.
I’ll take your word for it. That’s what I get for listening to loose talk
Never underestimate the Irish tendency to i) speak authoritatively on subjects they know fuck all about and ii) completely mishear/misinterpret a story but pass on the incorrect information as gospel anyway.
I had a colleague telling me the new Dublin football full back would be John Small, “the lad who got knocked unconscious in the challenge game against Tyrone last year”.
Well I did say pretty sure. Unless he changed professions, he was definitely a teacher at one point, and as recently as 2014
Liam Sheedy works in a bank. Liam Sheedy helped find the Offaly hurling manager. Liam Sheedy has links with clubs in Clare.
Those 3 sentences may or may not have anything to do with the Shane Dooley story…

O’Byrne Cup round-up: turkey shoot for Dubs
06 January 2016
Dublin were the biggest scorers in the O’Byrne Cup tonight as they roared to a facile 3-24 to 2-8 victory over IT Carlow in Blanchardstown.
Cormac Costello (2) and Paddy Andrews bagged the goals in a painfully one-sided encounter, although Jim Gavin will probably be very disappointed to have leaked two at the other end.
Despite getting their first win of the year, the holders face a do-or-die group game against DCU this weekend after the students claimed their second win from two, at the expense of Wexford – 1-8 to 1-3 in Enniscorthy.
James Califf was the star of the show as Louth stormed to an emphatic 2-11 to 0-8 victory over Kildare in a downpour at Hawkfield, while Westmeath registered eleven unanswered second-half points to claim a dramatic 0-14 to 1-10 victory over Longford
Elsewhere, Gary Walsh (0-5) impressed as Laois saw off Carlow at Portlaoise, 1-16 to 1-9, while UCD bagged a 2-8 to 0-11 victory over Meath at Simonstown.
Wicklow and Offaly also lost to student opposition, going down against NUI Maynooth (1-15 to 0-9) and DIT (2-11 to 0-10) respectively.
The semi-finalists will be confirmed when the third round takes place on Sunday.

Hon the Bally boy
If it is him Dublin are in trouble
Went to watch Dublin IT Carlow last night - half decent crowd considering the conditions. One sided as expected. Jarlath Curley full back in first half didn’t stand out but didn’t have a whole pile to do. Cormac Costello has bulked up and looked very sharp. Will be knocking on the door this year. Mick Deegan’s young fella also played well. Game was very open which suited Dublin down the ground.
It won’t be him.
