Carey hurled the tache off Storey that day.
I think you are underplaying mcinerney here. Anyone would struggle with a unit like that.
I think he scored more from play ?
Worth mentioning the lovely scenes on the pitch yesterday as the players could soak in the win without being railroaded by whooping hollering yahoos. Some beautiful moments as players took it in and enjoyed the enormity of the win among that tight unit. Thank God the pitch invasions are a thing of the past.
Trying to kick Limerick wonât make you feel any better, mate.
You just canât beat the precious GAA traditions of gaudy gold tinsel dropping from the roof of the Hogan Stand, The Scriptâs âThe Worldâs Gonna Know Your Nameâ blasting out over the public address system 0.7 seconds after the final whistle, plastic orange mesh being held up by the stewards to prevent the savage masses from entering the playing area, and, most importantly, the traditional playing of âTonightâs Gonna Be A Good Nightâ by The Black Eyed Peas as the cup is lifted.
Truly, part of what we are.
A moment to reflect and take in the enormity of the occasion and whats just happened. Its the least they deserve. Some beautiful and poignant images from what is now, a non pitch invasion occasion. And credit the stewards for having nous to allow in family members of the players and management, as it should be, but not easy to do I imagine. Well done one and all.
+1. I think whatâs even better than the celebrations is to see how sound the players are and the respect they have for each other. Itâs great to see the victors and the vanquished able to embrace each other and share a few words after the battle without being swarmed by muldoons.
Not at all
I thought the tinsel was black and amber and that the GAA had gone for a discounted early order.
Ouch @ChocolateMice looks like a bit of a chump now
It was lovely to see Big Dan Shanahan make his way to as many of the Galway panel and backroom team as possible during the post game. A really earnest and generous gesture from an alright sort. In the era of the pitch invasion heâd probably have gotten the head boxed off him by a swamp monkey oozing guinness from every pore as we ran past wooping and hollering.
Mate, iâm just delighted youve converted â you watched the minor and senior final yesterday and even provided commentary on last nightâs Sunday Game⌠huzzah!
Quite a few lads brought their mammy to the pub for the match there
No. I was in too much of a rush to get back to my beloved county and celebrate with my own. What a wonderful day, had a few (2) lovely pints with fellow Nogras beforehand, and 2 (two) pints during the minor game. The minor result was a real treat as had expected a Cork win. Nervous throughout the senior game but experience told in the end, Galway calmer and more clinical in the last 10 minutes.
A wonderful feed of porter last night in the company of real hurling men. Leaving my home place now with a mixture of elation and a little sadness, this is a wonderful country with the finest people on the planet.
Thats some fine west of Ireland weather there to remember it by
Youâre not staying on for the homecoming? I suppose itâll be next week before you get back if you do
The people of Portumna donât really have a Galway accent at all .
No, Iâm content with having been there yesterday. Itâll be a messy night in Galway with the weather and crowds, and have visiting to do elsewhere.
