2017 All Ireland Senior Football Championship, Dublin's continued exploitation of its natural advantages

Why does Aidan O’Shea pull up his shorts at every opportunity? Weird carry on. One would swear he was looking for attention.

Money talks.

Aussies show the way in this regard

Oh the Green and Red.

it would also allow fatter refs and open it up to a greater portion of the population at large

why are players wearing gps devices? is it in case they go missing?

:grinning:

The much maligned Ger Caning was excellent yesterday I thought, listen to his commentary for O Callaghans goal. Dessie Dolan was useless however

In terms of ground covered, there was only one winner yesterday for those present at the match. might not have been obvious on de tele

Jayo Sherlock was on the pitch more than he was on the sideline. haring around the place he was. He seems to have a bog role now in the Dublin backroom team. still fleet of foot by the looks of things sunday

Lol, Tipp lads getting their knickers in a twist because Mayo lose the football. What a great sporting year it’s been

What is this bollox that’s becoming received wisdom on here that a team, mayo, should win the game by enough so that bad ref decisions don’t impact the result?

What a load of shit.

You must think Mayo are the only team on the end of bad decisions. The same referee as Sunday blackguarded Fermanagh out of the Championship in Castlebar last year.

No i don’t and it seems you’ve missed the point.

It can’t always be the refs fault mate. The ref didn’t clothesline a Dublin player and give away a scoreable free and numerical advantage, nor did the ref hit a chest high shot at the keeper when one on one on goals.

Odd that you ignore the decisions that go Mayo’s way?

He got a few big calls wrong, they went Dublin’s way.

Either way that’s not my point. Lads are here saying mayo should have won by enough so the refs decisions didn’t matter. Then out the other side of their mouths they say that Dublin, who got the benefit of those decisions, are the best team of all time. Completely contradictory lines of reasoning. Bullshit basically.

Not at all. It means the big decisions even themselves out over time so there must be some other reason why a team gets so close and never wins or another team, say Dublin wins almost every tight game they have for three years.

Dublin have won three all Ireland’s in a row. You don’t do that without being a great team. Neither of the two great teams in recent times Kerry or Tyrone could manage a back to back, never mind three. They are currently behind the Kerry team that did the four in a row, but not a lot else. Mayo were the only team that laid a glove on them all year. In contrast Mayo were poxed to even be in the final.
Mayo have now lost 3 finals in 4 years by a point. It can’t always be the refs fault that they don’t have the bottle to haul themselves over the line.
